say what you want about bledsoe gunslinging antics; but he was one tough sob in the pocket- would stand in there with guys draped over him. I dont see that in Mallett. went down pretty easy tonite.

Once again the Pats were shafted by the Refs. But notice that the fumble recoverer ran it all the way back into the endzone, before the discussion about why they blew it dead.

They learned what would have happened if Spikes continued into the endzone on the strip sack. That was two more TDs the Refs called back.

I've seen Mallett have some great sequences. Unlike some* backups, he can light it up when he gets his rhythm.

I agree he struggles putting touch on the ball, but so did Grogan and Brady. Of course Brady excelled, but lots of QBs have to work it, wjile some naturally throw a soft ball. Matt Cavanagh and Tony eason come to mind.

I think the rules make them go through the protocol to test for a concussion whether it actually was or not.

All kidding aside, the backup QB position is not looking good. Yes, Cassell had what looked to be a bad pre-season but that was because the play calling was designed to test him under adversity. Mallett is simply not making plays (e.g. Boyce) that are open to be made. Not good. Tebow is inaccurate as hell and takes forever to wind up. Then again, it's game one and there's time ofr coaching up. Peace out, bro.

That was a strategic move by Mallett he left the game with exactly a 50% completion percentage. Tebow completes 46% career so Mallett has a clear edge.
