Diedorf is wrong I think. It would have been offsetting penalties, not a first down. I don't think a face mask supersedes a holding call.

Rob: the only major time penalties don't offset (in a non-scoring play) is 15 v. 5 (e.g., facemask v. false start). Holding is 10 for the offense, or 5 + AFD for the D.
