Game Day Thread The official Patriots vs Eagles game thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

You're not missing anything. The scrub is in 3 holdings in a row and we're calling run plays on a 2nd and 18.

Nah, Im in TN, i pay to see every damn second of my Pats at play...

interesting, always thought there was.

So why dont offenses just teach their receivers to run into the D when they cant get open? Seems that would be a quick way to march down the field.
I think he was being facetious.

in todays referees world; the defender is supposed to beam himself out of a spot of a receiver decides he wants to run there.

Brady should stay in and pad his stats.

Tebow just brought the Broncos back and tied the game.

With all the running it up sh!t teams get, what about Andy Reid alling a TO with his team down by 3 scores. If the Pats get the ball again, I hope they open it up with Hoyer

I would love to see the Pats put a dent in Tebowmania in 3 weeks.

They can do that as long as it's incidental contact (e.g., minor shove off). But if they gain an unfair competitive advantage by contact, that's OPI.

acutally, I think he's right. I just looked it up, the rulebook doesnt directly specify this, only says:

Article 3 Illegal Contact Beyond Five-Yard Zone. Beyond the five-yard zone, if the player who receives the
snap remains in the pocket with the ball, a defender may use his hands or arms only to defend or protect
himself against impending contact caused by a receiver. If the receiver attempts to evade the defender,
the defender cannot initiate contact that redirects, restricts, or impedes the receiver in any way.

You could say that the receiver didnt attempt to evade the defender, but the rule isn't explicit in spelling it out.

To me, it seems stupid that if the WR makes a cut and runs into the defender, that it'd be 'illegal contact', but thats just me. I blame Polian.

BTW- the coverage hasn't been bad tonight after the first period

after spotting the eagles 10 points, the pats cleaned up well.

any injuries to worry about? green-ellis last saw action in the 3rd, is he ok?

uh oh, eagle's are in the hurry-up

OK, gotcha. Still think it was a bogus penalty, the DB has no way of knowing where that WR was going to cut to, and can't anticipate that.

Just life in today's NFL I guess.
