McCourty made those plays last year. I guess it's too much to ask of him to make them this year too?

They are changing the coverage schemes. He might need a few weeks to adjust. The Pats made mostly zone last year. Now they are playing much more man coverages.

In man coverages, the front pressure is much more necessary and Rivers has had plenty of time in the pocket. The d-line needs to put more pressure on him.

The secondary needs to adjust to the new man coverage schemes, but drawing anything from Philip Rivers throwing on them is no a great sample. It would like saying the Chargers defense sucks because Brady is picking them apart.

I get it. But this is the second game of the year. Not the first.
