That's horsesh!t.. Brown did have his head up looking for the ball.. Go back and watch it... What you are describing is faceguarding and that is not a penalty.. Not to mention that Browns hand knocked the ball away..

Brown had his elbow hooked into Gate's elbow and yanked him down before he could catch. I didn't see that on the regular play but the replay showed that clearly.

To be fair, SD did get flagged for five penalties, but they have fewer than half the penalty yards that the Pats have been called for.
