I honestly don't think our D is that bad. But I liked what we were doing pass rush wise before we signed Andre Carter. Buchannon would run the arc and force the qb to step up into Chandler Jones at dt.

I have to be honest buddy and I am not trying to sound like a **** but the fact you think in his 13th season Tom Brady has just become this poor QB who cannot execute in the first half of football games is foolish, the fact is this team has been struggling since last season and the only difference to the structure is McDaniels. He is not prepare his offense and he is not developing the correct game plan if you have any question about that you should re-watch the games we have played in the second half.

Without McDaniels

  • 4 SB trips
  • 3 SB victories
  • 2 seasons w/ 100.0 QB rating or higher
  • 2 seasons w/ 35+ touchdowns
  • 3 seasons w/ 65% completion percentage or higher

With McDaniels
  • 1 SB trip
  • 0 SB victories
  • 1 season w/100.0 QB rating or higher
  • 1 season w/ 35+ touchdowns or higher
  • 1 season w/ 65% completion percentage or higher

All the things listed under with Josh were accomplished in the 2007 season. There is no question in my mind if someone is to blame for execution issues on offense it is McDaniels and not TFB.
God you're an irritating little twit. Your logic is fuzzy at best. Your information is often incorrect, and your effort to establish your self as an opinion setter on this board is just tiresome. Do you realize you have almost the same number of posts in one season than I've had in over a decade here. That should tell you something, because sometime I think I post too much and spend too much time here

Your criticism of Josh McDaniels is laughable. As fans we all can complain about calls we might make if we were OC's. I do all the time. For example I hate it when we don't show a legitimate run threat on a 3rd and short. I just find it ludicrous that someone of your limited football knowledge can call out Josh McDaniels. Based on WHAT! And before you get all offended by my calling you someone with limited knowledge. I know more football that most people here, but compared to the guys you are criticizing, I too am nothing more than a fan with limited knowledge.

Just give it a rest.....for all our sakes

Don't worry about it. I think I spoke for us all when I gave him the DX style suck it gesture when we won.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

I think this is being misinterprested. He was telling the crowd the Browns would choke this one away.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Did you follow the game thread? Holy ****, bunch of quitters, thought it was a Jets board. This offense sucks, this defence sucks!!!!! wow.!

let's not act like we were playing great. most fans were b!tching and moaning because for 3 qtrs we played like a dog crap. can't blame them.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Never said "they" were. If you can't wait 60min. Not my fault.

What the heck is the problem with the O-line? They've been horrid the last few games. I was impressed Brady didn't lose his cool despite being humped by the Browns Dline on every play.

They should just put that the patriots are down by double digits in order for them to play well.

Out side of the reverse and 2 scrambles the Browns managed 49yds on 22 carries, or well under 3 ypc. The reverse was simply a great call, at a perfect time, and well executed. To lambast Jones for that is ludicrous.

However if you want to lambast him for being schooled by the best LT in the business on his pass rushing, then that's another story.

I didn't lambast him for the Browns game. I mentioned one play in the Browns game and purposefully said "this season".

edlemans numbers are better then welkers...

Edelman's numbers are not better than Welker's at least according to the current NFL.com statistics. Edelman has 3 more receptions (76-73), but Welker's got a better YPC, 778 yards to 775 yards, 10 tds to 5, 321 yac to 322, 49 1st downs to 39, and is averaging .02 ypg more. In short, the numbers are largely a wash, except for TDs and 1st downs, where Welker is significantly ahead.

I agree ...Welker is a head now...

Re: Patriots versus Brown postgame thread

Deus, this team never gives up. It's gonna come down to Dobson, KT, Boyce, amendola, Edelman and collie to come together. We maybe be witnessing one of the craziest, seasons ever, and it's gonna end in a SB title.

If this team wins the SB with the expected potential opponents remaining similar to the way they are today (in other words, without significant injuries changing their rosters), the NFL might as well just shut down, because BB will be the unquestionable G.O.A.T., Brady will be unquestionable G.O.A.T., and the Patriots will officially be what every zombie wants to be.

There'll be no reason to play the game anymore. Everything will have been decided.

The offensive line is playing much poorer than our usual standard, and are really only mediocre this year. I believe it is one of the bigger differences between our success the past couple/few seasons and 2013--although there are many to try and count.

It's actually extremely amazing that we're continuing to win games with these differences on almost every level. I can't really think of one aspect of the entire team (aside from maybe the secondary, and that's when all 3 levels of defense are clicking properly) that is actually better than the past few seasons. It's really defying all logic, so let's hope it somehow continues.

I think our only real chance is securing the #2 seed and trying to win one home game to get into the AFCCG, otherwise this team resembles those of 2005/2009. The next 2 games @Miami and @Baltimore, both of whom are playing better lately, will be huge tests...just huge. Should we lose one of those games Cincy will be there to take over the second bye spot, and unfortunately there just isn't much time to make the difference back up.

  • Vollmer's out
  • Cannon's out
  • Solder's overrated, struggles against both power and speed (though speed is his biggest killer), and seems to need yet another year to fully develop
  • Wendell's undersized and underpowered
  • Connolly is getting a bit slower, and often takes a moment to adjust if he doesn't have a man in front of him immediately
  • Svitek is the ORT3, and is playing down to that designation
  • Mankins has been the team's best O-lineman and, if you read a lot of the threads around here, you'd swear that his next good play will be his first.

Good breakdown. The next obvious question is, can these issues be overcome? Hoping Solder/Connolly/Mankins can be coached up. Any other options? And please tell me I'm not alone in my concern about the Oline's performance...it's probably the single greatest factor which directly influence Brady's performance.

I guessing (hoping?) we'll probably see the playcalling adjusted to incorporate more running, and even fewer long passes (focus will be on Brady getting rid of the ball quickly on short dunks/screens, just keep the chains moving).

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

He might have been saying he cut up the defense on that play, which he clearly did.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Why the hell is the slit-throat motion illegal?

God, we're such a country of sniveling, apologetic little men...

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone sometimes.

Some people find it offensive. Just make sure NFL players keep wearing pink for the whole month of October. It helps the NFL make money off of people who want to support cancer awareness. (BTW, who is not aware of cancer?)
