Aus, that injury looks bad. But I have a feeling for some odd reason, gronk is gonna be playing in the playoffs. Or maybe the win has got to my common sense LOL

No. Gronk has an ACL. He wont play.Lets be real.

You know what? You're right. I can't think of a team that's battled this level of adversity. Teammates in prison for murder. Injuries to multiple all-pro players. Starters, captains out of the lineup.

You know what? We're still winning. The team believes. I believe. I love this team.

And yet Belichick will get next to no consideration for Coach of the Year.

I sure hope so. There's only so many times the Patriots can go to the well with Brady.

By the way, haven't seen this mentioned here (search "leon" in this thread) , but Leon Washington had a 95-yard kick return earlier today.

Saw that too, and IIRC it was before our comeback so that's pretty much a miracle nothing was broken here.

Albert Breer @AlbertBreer
To me, and this is just my opinion, Tom Brady is now in the lead for league MVP.

It won't happen, but atleast others see what Brady's had to deal with this year. Brady racked up 400+ passing yards and 27 points in a half against a top 10 D with:

Edelman
Amendola
Boyce
Mulligan
Vereen

Losing Gronkowski sucks royally, no way around that.

Silver lining: with Boyce showing up, we now have three good, young wideouts. Excited to see these guys develop.

Yeah, plus I meant to post that in the week 14 games thread. The egg nog is strong this year.

After amazing come backs vs Miami, New Orleans, Denver and now Cleveland, how can you NOT believe ?

Boyce will get one of those before long (hopefully in six games time).

Run those numbers again but substitute Vereen for Gronk. It would be interesting to see how they come out. As for not relying on Vereen, why not. Our offense is based upon finding mismatches and that's what Vereen represents. We're probably going to be running a lot of four WR sets that will take up a lot of secondary attention which will free up Vereen. In some ways, Vereen benefits from no Gronk because the field becomes more stretched and Vereen makes hay in space.

The team has average 27.6 PPG in the 5 games that Vereen has played in this season.

Shane Vereen is a very good player, potentially could develop into an all pro caliber player but Rob Gronkowski is in a class of players that includes him, Johnson Jr. and Peterson, his loss is devastating and Vereen is not going to make up for that.

Vereen

Oops. Might have put that in the wrong place :bricks:

For those that said Ward launched himself and led with his helmet. Just horribly wrong. This was your standard smaller DB vs. bigger TE/WR hit. It's unfortunate, but this is what the league office legislated into games.

We only lost one game in his absence didn't we? Hardly cause for suicide (and yes I know we had a better D then). We're fine with Vereen, Amendola and McDaniels

Agreed. There was nothing wrong with that. He hit the thigh.

What an amazing game, I was sure this one was going in the L column, but they went and made the most difficult play in football, the on-side kick. Holy crap, Gost was amazing on that kick and Arrington came through, showing how much of an incredible ST player he is.

To be precise, it's the most difficult play when the other team knows it's coming.

I am not thinking about the playoffs, take one game at a time and see what happens. Who would have ever guessed the 2001 pats would have gone to the Superbowl and beaten the Rams, one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history.

"Can you believe we won the f***ing Super Bowl with this team?" —Bill Belichick, after winning SB36

Agreed. There was nothing wrong with that. He hit the thigh.

It was just bad timing, he got hit right when he had all his weight on his right leg, just an unfortunate event.

I just want to check in to say îI feel really bad for Gronkowski. .the guy is snake bit.at least he signed his extension early. Î can't help but feel the Pats sB hopes are virtually zilch at this point.

Does anyone else find it excruciatingly hard to post to his website on an ipad? Letters come up soo slow

318/523 = 60.8%, 3685 passing yards, 7.045889101 average, 21 touchdowns, 9 interceptions with the receivers he has taken the field with this season that’s remarkable. For more than 50% of Brady’s games he has been on the field with his #1 receiving target being a 7th round converted QB who signed a 1 year contract for less than $1 million in the offseason.

If you don’t appreciate what Tom Brady has done this season you don’t appreciate greatness.

There's probably not a clip, but McCourty made a very similar hit on Gordon not much later — obviously not on the knee or injury-causing, but as you say "your standard smaller DB vs. bigger TE/WR hit."
