You know what? Look at BAL last year. NYG the year before. IND during their run. And most importantly, the Pats in 2001. Close games, not the best team in the league during the regular season.

You know what? They still won. They win their division. They squeak by in games that most had written them off. They won.

You know what? Get hot for the playoffs. Win some games in the cold, win some more games, next thing you know, it's the Superbowl.

It can be done. Underdogs can win. Depleted teams can win. Teams that look poor at the end of the season get hot and run the table. It's all about attitude, getting hot at the right time, that unmeasurable quality. The Pats have that.

It's not a good win when your best 3 players are a punter, a kicker and a 3rd down back. But I'll take it. I contemplated turning the tv off when we were 2 possessions down. But I'm glad I didn't. It's amazing to watch all those comebacks this season. This is definitely the most fun season I've ever watched. Don't think we have a shot at the superbowl though

Vereen: 40 receptions 378 yards in 5 games

To those of you with a better grasp of these things, how does that compare to Faulk's or Woodhead's relative productivity? I'm not looking for a who's better argument but it seems to me that if Vereen can maintain that, then we're at the very least continuing the tradition of quality receiving RBs.

on another note...some embarrassing stuff on the game thread today not related to football at all. Was disappointed how much the game and injury made people flip so much .

We really need Dobson and Thompkins on the field, and we need Amendola to step up, catching 4 balls on 8 targets for 36 yards is not going to suffice without Gronkowski on the field, we cannot rely on Shane Vereen for 12 receptions and 153 receiving yards on a weekly basis.

Obviously Vereen isn't going to produce 150 yards from scrimmage every game, but let's not Overlook the fact that this is Vereen's breakout game. He also had a huge game against the Texans in the playoffs last year, so he HAS the ability.

Losing gronk hurts. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But other players need to step up such as Vereen, Boyce, and Amendola. These guys Don't Quit! So don't count em out! That's when they make you look foolish.

Just ask Denver, New Orleans, and now Cleveland.

What an amazing game, I was sure this one was going in the L column, but they went and made the most difficult play in football, the on-side kick. Holy crap, Gost was amazing on that kick and Arrington came through, showing how much of an incredible ST player he is.

I am not thinking about the playoffs, take one game at a time and see what happens. Who would have ever guessed the 2001 pats would have gone to the Superbowl and beaten the Rams, one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history.

Remember, any team can come out and beat any other team on any given sunday, Browns have a great defense and Josh Gordon has been an absolute beast of a receiver.

Boyce could be a guy that really shines as the Patriots move to a more WR oriented offense. That and Vereen, that guy is a major factor in the offense.

Proud of the Patriots for fighting through the adversity, when Gronk went out, I was sure they were done.

I think part of it is that the DEs have been pinching inside against the run so much. That interior line needs all the help it can get, while the outside run hasn't hurt them nearly as much. Obviously there are exceptions, like that play.

I can always rely on you for a quality and pertinent response. This makes sense.

My ANGLE is dealing with reality. Something you clearly have problems with.

1) Drew Rosenhaus isn't going to tell Garafalo squat. Why? Because Rosenhaus knows how the Patriots operate.

2) The inner workings of the Patriots has nothing to do with the technology available. They don't make definitive announcements about injuries until after it's been confirmed.

3) Maybe you should re-read some of the tweets because many of them are saying COULD BE a torn ACL. Not like Garafalo's statement which was definitive.

I'm pumped up right now. Maybe its the Canadian Club. But I don't think so. i believe in this team. I believe in the G.O.A.T. I believe in the best coach to ever grace the sidelines. I believe in the Pats.

We're going to the AFC Championship this year, and we're going to represent in the Superbowl. I believe. So many injuries. So much adversity, no continuity through the season, but we win. We adapt. We overcome.

- Starting Nose Tackle/Defensive Tackle.
- Starting Nose Tackle/Defensive Tackle.
- Starting Middle Linebacker.
- Starting Right Tackle.
- Starting Tight End.
- Starting Tight End - courtesy of the United States justice system.
- A rash of miscellaneous injuries to key personnel forcing them to miss significant time.

Anything is possible with Brady at the helm but winning in January is going to be difficult without Gronk. Here's hoping it's just a sprain.

It's the ultimate storyline and it all makes sense to me. This team doesn't quit. We should be the most feared team in the NFL, just like NYG and BAL. we should be feared, and I believe. I always believed!

Aus, that injury looks bad. But I have a feeling for some odd reason, gronk is gonna be playing in the playoffs. Or maybe the win has got to my common sense LOL
