Interesting observation by Reiss:

Belichick's upright proposal comes in handy. On Broncos kicker Brandon McManus' 44-yard field-goal attempt that clanged off the right upright, it might have been a case where the extension of uprights proposed by Bill Belichick this past offseason was the clincher. It was a high kick and if the uprights weren't extended, perhaps the officials would have called it good. Instead, it clanged off and makes one wonder if McManus -- in a year where the Broncos are loading up for Manning -- is a prudent choice for the Broncos. McManus is 6 of 9 this season at this point.
