He's already much better than JPP. Not quite as good as JPP's second year yet, but almost there.

Remember in 2009 when Mayo's knee looked like it got blown out early in the season, and he could barely walk off, and it turned out to be 'just' a sprained MCL? Hoping for that, but that would be way too lucky.
