I am going to go out and say that McKenzie isn't going to be an OLB for the Pats, but an ILB in the mold of Bruschi.

Awwright! They got an OLB!

He must be really smart - - he went to 3 colleges!

That makes a lot of sense... interesting kid, three schools.. never played in a consistent system.. looks like a ILB....

I LOVE this pick.
I've been hoping for this guy.
I think he is the third or fourth best ILB prospect for the Pats.

He should be very very good opposite Mayo, and sets up the Pats with a great ILB rotation with Mayo-McKenzie-Guyton for years to come.

Great Leadership, Good Character. Solid. Move him Inside next to Mayo and a year of tutaledge with bruschi.

McKenzie is going inside. He averaged over 10 tackles a game for his career!

Sporting News had Tate ranked as the 20th best player in the draft. Not receiver, player. Their comparison was Terrell Owens. And he's a heck of a returner. If anything, he steps in immediately as the team's kick returner.

Bottom line: Going into the 2008 season, Tate was viewed primarily as a return man, but he stepped up early in the year to emerge as a legitimate NFL-caliber receiver. Unfortunately, he played in only six games before injuring his knee, and he underwent surgery to repair his right MCL and ACL. Tate must prove his knee is healthy and convince teams he can return to his pre-injury form in order to remain a high draft pick. He has the tools to rebound from his injury and become a productive big-play receiver and return man in the NFL.

great great draft in my opinion

very well !

They say he's speedy and athletic:rocker: Bru will take care of him.

To be fair, he did pull his hammy during the 40 time.

I think this is the first draft we will not have one starter. Shows how good our team is.

OR

Is Patrick Chung going to start over Sanders?

Kid's got a titanium rod in his leg.

Cool - less likely it will break again.

Seriously - that's why we're taking him - 2nd round value in the 3rd.

I can't help but wonder if BB would trade up to grab another guy in the 4th if there's someone he likes on the board ...seeing as the compensatory picks can't be traded, it would have to be a pick from next year to do so - but if there's a guy he likes still available I'd think he'd make a move.

Aside from that I guess we're done with trading down for the day.

LOVE IT!

The Patriots are beginning to make sure Out-Takes isn't a wholly humiliating enterprise:

Darius Butler (check! Not in the first round, as predicted, but still.)

3rd round pick a TRADED (check!)

untradeable 3rd round comp pick Tyrone McKenzie (check!)
