The Most Extreme Weather Games in Patriots History

When are we gonna get another snow game in Foxborough?

It’s been too damn long.

I’d add the Tennessee Division game after the 2003 season. Bitter cold, Bethel Johnson TD catch and clutch Vinatieri kick, his most underrated. (Also a clutch Drew Bennett drop ...)

Pats at Bills, 2000 season. Was a skating rink with freezing rain, snow and insane wind. I've dug through YouTube to find footage, but come up empty. FG kicking was an adventure by both teams. Vinatieri's winner may be one of the most suspenseful chip shots considering the comedy of errors that occurred prior.

Regards,
Chris

Been to a ton of cold games in my life but that 2009 playoff home loss to the Ravens was BITTER cold...that's one I would NOT sit through ever again

I was at the bizarre wind game at Orchard Park. The temperature in late December was 60 degrees with consistent non-stop wind of 35 mph, and gusts of 60-70 mph. Funny as hell to see them even bother to line up for a kick.

They missed the main highlight though which was Brady's quick kick punt that rolled and rolled and rolled with the wind behind it as the players coaxed it down to the goalline. Ridiculous. It rolled like 20 yards at a very slow rate of speed.

That was Cassel actually. Last game of the 2008 season that Brady's missed. Just looked it up and the punt traveled 57 yards.

Remember the Jaguars game in the mid 2000's when Seymour was benched for the first series because he got back late from attending his grandfather's funeral.. he was a beast that game.

It was single digits cold along with a nice breeze, made the conditions unbearable.. my feet were cold before the game began and never got any better... it was freaking cold. Pats won though..

Nr 1 Snow Plow Game and last game at Foxboro Stadium vs Raiders tied

So many from my tenure as STH...the playoff game vs Tennessee in 03, something like 5 degrees at kickoff. We had an ez up w sides and a propane htr going and it was fairly warm at our tailgate...but during the game, yikes, bought beers and by the time we got back to the seats they were Coors lt slushies....of course, snowbowl vs Oakland...for me a real bad one was 93 vs Indianapolis...was very cold and I went to the game woefully unprepared. Had plenty of layers but wore sneakers...from that day on for every cold game we brought a blanket FOR OUR FEET so our feet weren't on the freezing cold concrete for 3 hours straight. I lost feeling in parts of my feet and when I got home there was lots of purple...ouch, probably close to frostbite.
The most miserable game was a game vs the NYJ (I think), in the 09-12 range iirc. It snowed 4 or 5 inches overnight, then gradually warmed up a tad and turned to rain around 10ish. But the ground was still cold so everything in the parking lot (we were in P10 towards the back) was freezing and it became a literal skating rink.
It cold rained the entire game...sitting in that was not fun...

Rainiest I have ever been for a game ( attending/playing/ any circumstance) had to be opening day 1975 vs Houston....6-0 loss where only score was a fumble recovery...... I'm still trying to shake off the moisture.........

Oh yeah, forgot it was Cassel. LOL.

Seems there were more severe weather games at old Schaefer stadium, I remember snow in the stands and freezing my baguettes off many times.

Even god was pissed at the Sullivans...

People forget we dodged a major bullet for the 2004 afc championship game...Pats played at Pittsburgh on 1/23...Foxboro got 2+ feet of snow Saturday into Sunday afternoon...chances are the game would've been played in front of a half full stadium as all of new england was shoveling 2-3 feet of snow well into the afternoon ...game might have been ppd as crews would've had to remove 2+ feet of snow from the stadium seats etc ..and I'm pretty sure there were plans to play on Monday night had Pittsburgh lost the div round and Pat's won and ended up hosting afc title game as the massive snowstorm was in the forecast
