The Joe Milton Experience

Zappe Maye and Milton should have a completely open competition for backup spot. Would love to see AVP stop babying Drake.
Whoever performs best gets backup spot regardless of draft position.

Maye should be getting 20-25 snaps per preseason game
The fewer snaps he get the higher the likelihood he sits the whole season

Hopefully Milton wins the #3 job so they can show Zappe the door. They need to clear out Bill's QB room.

In the draft forum I compared these two QBs. Except Milton is a little bigger and even more physically gifted. So why was he taken in the sixth round?

Beats me.

One of the many knocks on Milton is that he throw too hard
I love this .

He had good poise in the pocket. My impression is that this is something that is really hard to learn once you hit the NFL level.

Anthony Richardson should have been a 6th rounder, he's not an NFL QB. Same as Milton.
NFL scouts do a good job on college QB's to a point, most starting QB's are first rounders.
They are, on average, very poor at distinguishing between those guys once they narrow it down.

That there was 1 scout in the world that said Bryce Young should be the #1 overall draft pick when IN HISTORY ZERO QB's of his height have been successful NFL QB's is amazing but almost all the scouts had him there. He has a couple traits that make him an interesting QB prospect, great, then you say, weak arm, and 5 foot 9, oops off my board, not that hard but they tend to get stuck on the good things when it is the real bad things you need to analyze to death.

If you just analyzed the bad in each prospect once you narrow it down, the success rate would go up considerably on these QB's.

Let Milton compete for starting job. Will push Maye.
His mobility and strong arm are weapons that makes it harder for defenses. Make Maye earn his roster spot through competition

I have absolutely no problem with this, every player needs to earn their playing time, and the competition will make both of them better.
