The JETS are pretty close to the PATS - talent wise

Disagree. I'd take maybe 3 of their players on D (Harris, Rhodes and Revis, Bryan Thomas at a push), whilst on O.....1 perhaps? And it won't be the one you're thinking of.

David Harris > Guyton and possibly even Mayo too

Rhodes > any safety on our team

Revis > any cornerback on our team

Calvin Pace > Adalius Thomas > Vrabel

Favre > Cassell

DBrick,Faneca,Mangold > Light,Mankins,Koppen

Funny, we were saying the same thing about the pats until Brady and moss were breaking records last year. Many would argue that Favre is a great player. He's owns all big three passing records - passes, completions, and touchdowns. Some would point out that he also has the most career interceptions. But you can't say that he is not great.

I would even argue that without Brady we have a handful of good players but not one that is great.

When you think about it, both teams have two first ballot hall of famers - our Brady and Moss vs their Favre and Faneca. Seymour looks to make the HOF, but Jenkins is a possibility there too.

I'm not arguing in favor of the OP, the Jets are not that close to the pats , but there are a lot of patsfans who don't give them as much credit as they deserve.

Did you just say Randy Moss isn't great?

You really shouldn't drink and post.

Revis is good but overrated, Thomas is significantly better than Pace (he's just as good on the pass rush, and can actually drop into coverage, which is a weak point for Pace), Favre throws too many interceptions to be considered a significant advantage, and DBrick, Faneca, and Mangold are most definitely not better than Light, Mankins, and Koppen. Fail.

yet they are not nearly as good.

Goes to show how important coaching and experience in this league is.

you have got to be kidding me.. :wha:

If you define a team's talent by its top half-dozen players, then you must not have been much of a Pats fan this decade.

Dont be a homer. Revis is NOT overrated. He's one of the best young CBs in the league.

i think lombardi said it best today, they can beat anybody on a given day and lose to anybody on a given day .
if they beat STL they will be coming to foxboro with a lot of confidence to grab the division lead or even doubling it if the pats lose to the bills.
iam hoping the rams spring a miracle.

Revis is overrated??? NO WAY.. I hate to say it but in his second year he has like 1 TD against him.. He is solid and will only get better..

Thomas and Pace are a wash.. But you are incorrect saying Pace can't drop into coverage.. He is an excellent LB who can do all..

Agree on our OL compared to their OL.. Ours is much better.. Dbrick is a bum and Faneca hasn't played well in over 20 games..

I'd take Jenkins right now over Wilfork.. Jenkins reminds me of Ted Washington..

Favre > Cassell

Honestly, I'm no homer and I really, really don't know how fair this is. Farve has looked objectively terrible in the last couple games. He's good for at least one gunslinger INT a game. The Jets are winning in spite of him, not because of him. Cassel, on the other hand, has been very safe with the ball and has led the offense very well despite not having his first THREE runners behind him.

Also in your comparisons, shouldn't you put Mayo and Guyton up against Gholston?

That you made this claim kills any credibility you might have had with your argument.
