The Handshake

I agree that Brady wouldn't let him go.... and I bet he didn't say anything more than "Thank You".... But making RG stand there for just a few seconds longer to extend his (RG) misery spoke VOLUMES.

Sometimes words are needed.

Sure looks to me like Roger went in for the handshake, Brady took his hand, then Roger pulls away as if the handshake is over and Brady doesn't let go so he can get an extra word in.
Check out the ice cold stare Jim Gray gives Goodell when he tried to pull away.

I hate to say this, but it looked pretty chummy to me.

I think it just goes to show that Goodell is a practiced politician and Brady is a genuinely nice guy, who isn't going to waste his time on petty grudges when he has better things to do.

Meh I just think Tom is overall the bigger man and better human being. As much as we would like Tom to punch him and call him a f*cker - Tom won't do that.

Read it more closely. It was not regarding Brady and Goodell, but BB and and Goodell. There was actually a slight embrace and smiling while speaking for 15 seconds.

Again, I wasn't talking about Brady-Goodell, but BB-Goodell.

And to @neuronet and @wordsmyth who, for some reason, hit the Disagree button on that, look from the :50 - 1:14 mark of the video and see who goes out of his way to flag down Goodell. I don't like it either, but it is what it is:

My bad.

Great catch shmessy. Look at Brady and Belichick's exchange as the thunderous boos are drowning out Goodell. They appear to be getting a good laugh at the reaction (just my interpretation). Maybe BB reached out to Goodell with condolences for both the crowd and the fact the Pats won.

FWIW, I also didn't notice any handshakes at today's award presentations unlike 2 years ago when there were plenty of bro hugs. Ok, I better stop with this ridiculous analysis of body language.

Please tell me this isn't photoshopped. It's way too classless for Tom but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if he actually did it cuz F@$& Frauger Gotohell.

Tis photo-shopped.

Agreed. But I mean...I don't know what people expect. Bill to spit in Goodell's mouth?

As much as it would have been gratifying, stooping to show contempt for Goodell would only elevate his importance in what was going on from 'freakshow side note' to 'center stage drama'.

This was about the Patriots. This was about Brady and the team and the coaches putting on the greatest comeback in the history of the NFL and one of the greatest comebacks in the history of all sports.

****ing Goodell doesn't warrant any more attention than you'd give a wad of dogshit under your shoe.

Right.

We all know BB has little to no use for Goodell or his merry band of incompetent buffoons.

However at the end of the day BB is the top executive of an NFL franchise, has already been crushed by Goodell and sees no need to rage against that machine again as it's not worth the fight as it hurts the team.

Whoa!

Who said anything about being impolite?

There's a difference between how Brady interacted than how BB interacted with Goodell. Neither was "spit in the face". BB's was just markedly friendlier.

Check out the ice cold stare Jim Gray gives Goodell when he tried to pull away.

I'm actually mesmerized by Gray's facial expression in slo-mo there. It goes through at least 4 different emotions.

First: contentment talking with Brady
Second: turning and seeing the Ommissioner, the eyebrows raise slightly and for a split second the mouth turns up in a smirk of bemusement
Third: quick recovery to seriousness
Fourth: icy cold stare down

Robert Deniro couldn't have done that any better.

Wonder if jim gray would tell us what was said?

Yup as "chummy" as my saying to my sister's dog "You are a good reserve food source. Good reserve food source. Who's a good reserve food source?"
