The Franchise Tags are Coming.. The Franchise tags are coming....

I really hope that the Pats can get a deal with Orlando Brown done. I'd also love them to get a deal with Patrick Peterson done so they can bring along a young CB in the draft. I love Jon Jones but there just isn't enough money to go around..

Lamar Jackson is going to be a very interesting case study.
Any team can get him for 2 1sts. How many will feel he is worth it?

It is funny that both Geno Smith and Daniel Jones were considered by many or most as guys most likely about to become back up QBs for the rest of their careers before this season to franchise tag candidates now.
We're entering stupid times... We've been there for mlb and NBA for a while. We are gonna see a 60million dollar QB soon enough. Makes you wonder how TV contracts are gonna keep the pace with so many streaming apps

Teams might as well draft multiple qbs just to get them on cheap deals. It would be like the mlb farm system.

yes - for example in next year's draft the Pats should consider spending their 1st rounder on a Mac replacement who can sit behind him for a year, then let Mac go after year 5 and run with his replacement for 4 years of a rookie deal.
