The Chiefs are moving from Missouri to Kansas into a domed stadium

The current Arrowhead is such a good home field advantage in the playoffs, with the weather and noise level.

I haven't been to Gillette since 07 since I don't live in NE anymore. But I remember the stadium didn't hold noise the way other stadiums did. Has it gotten better since they closed up both ends?

It's without question one of the best home field advantages in the NFL

But it's NOT a good stadium for Tay Tay to have a concert in. She needs a dome for her next tour, DUH!

The Cheeves will be so "yesterday" to her minions after Kelce (a/k/a Mr. Swift) retires. That guy will be going through a major identity crisis when his own spotlight fades.

and I’ve grown to expect such positive and community supportive actions from chiefs ownership over the last decade…
You mean the Dallas Texans owners...

Some fans lost fingers and toes at the last Miami vs Chiefs post season game.

Its possible that there are grounds to file a lawsuit against the Chiefs.

You mean, suing someone else over your own stupidity? You must have experience with this -- how does it work?

Bigger than location is kc giving up the weather advantage should they host playoff games with the domed stadium.

And if the new playing surface is PhonyTurf, then that's even more proof that "player safety" is a Lie.

yahh..owners should spend 3 billion dollars of their own money..instead of getting it done for free. lololol fantasy land

EDIT: Looking at what I found so far, it looks like Kraft was a pain in the butt to work with when it came time to move anywhere but Massachusetts. Both the Providence and Hartford projects left each state feeling used. I don't even know how serious he was about even moving to Boston, as his self-funded stadium there was 'leaked' to the press. This led to an upset mayor and governor, which leads me to believe Kraft was the source of the leak.
I feel used every time I visit those States too....

These NFL owners have ZERO allegiance and are so greedy. The Chiefs ownership took the money and have left the state. The stadium is literally minutes over the border but still. It will be a multi purpose DOMED stadium.

I looked up the history of Super Bowl winning teams whose homefield was a domed stadium. It's TWO teams Colts X2, Rams X2. Let me know if I missed any. Good luck to the Chiefs LOL.

Chiefs announce move from Arrowhead Stadium
The first Colts SB win was when they were in Baltimore, playing at Memorial Stadium, an outdoor venue. So technically it’s one for the Colts as a dome team. As someone else pointed out, the Saints won one so that’s three teams.

So ends the Chief's dynasty.....with a Colt's like whimper....never to win in Denver again.

So could KC MO officials come back and offer them a deal they can't refuse?

I believe Kraft had a deal with Hartford before and backed out.

Absolutely insane and financial malfeasance on the part of Kansas' government. $1.8 billion given over in tax money and a measly $7 million in rent charged to the team each year.

Similar to the Miami Marlins deal where the sports team got everything and city nothing. Also getting rid of 10,000 seats just to have more luxury boxes in a domed stadium. So lame.

The hunts suck.

Yeah, but they are giving that weather advantage (?) up for the possibility of hosting a SB once every 20 years.

The state of MO has already had an emergency meeting. The Mayor of KC has vowed to fight, skipping weekly manicures and is taking the gloves off ! So, watch out. He is partly responsible for this whole chain of events.

Sports media and radio stations are in on the drama. They are holding daily AM radio wakes remembering the good old days of Arrowhead. Fans are calling in, some heartbroken and others furious that the Chiefs are leaving - for KS. A grief counselor actually called in with ways to cope with despair. Clark Hunt set the stage perfectly when he stated "We are doing this for the fans. My father, Lamar, loved Arrowhead, but he always strived to give the fans the best experience possible and I want to continue that legacy."

The fans will now pressure the state of MO, KC and Jackson County. Look for a rally to keep the team in KCMO.

MO and KS fought each other in the civil war,

Houston had a Super Bowl in 2004 and 2017.

Phoenix had a Super Bowl in 2008 and 2015.
