The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Absolutely correct. Using Belichick's long history of choosing pocket passers over more mobile quarterbacks is completely unfair to Belichick, and saying that Maye was likely Belichick's least favorite quarterback of the six, when he said Maye was the worse pocket passer of the top quarterbacks is also totally unfair to Belichick, since he was the one who said it. In fact, holding Belichick to account for anything he has said or done is also completely unfair to him, especially if you consider him the GOAT, and credit him for building the greatest dynasty in NFL history. If you don't have your tongue right beside Signbabybrady's, all the way up Belichick's ass, then you are by definition a Belichick hater.
When all you do is twist what he says out of context to fit your narrative then yes it's totally unfair and show your bias from hating him. There's no getting around this. Your twisting top QB into top 6 when he was clearly talking about the 3 selected at that point.

LOL, can't hate the guy who was part of a duo that gave us 20 years of incredible football. Again, not thrilled with his choices now, but like anything else, time changes everything and I'd like to think Jordan will just be an annoying footnote to an otherwise incredible career.
It's your board that has turned into the leading place in New England to hate Bill Belichick so you get guilt by association.

You realize the vast majority of people in here don't really feel that way, correct? I get there are a handful who feel a certain way, but I think most of the others are just focused on what's going on now and simply choose not to take part in that debate again. Especially since it's already been discussed so many times.

But for the ones who don't like him, it's not my place to tell people how to think. And again, either way, I don't think that number is anywhere close to where you think it is.

Silence says a lot too. I'm dying out here and only 4 or 5 posters regularly speak up. This place has clearly made its opinion known and it pretty much unamously does not like him and it's quite sad.

Ehhhh, I deeply appreciate what BB did here and consider him the GOAT coach in the NFL.

I don't have the patience required to get into pointless debates about BB vs TFB (I said my part years ago), and if he's having fun with a 20-something girl, then good on him. If he's failing at UNC, then I guess maybe he's not cut out for it. What else is there to say?

When I was a kid before the winning and spoiled brats we used to say so and so gets beers for life he wins us a title.

But on this message board 6 titles only gets you hated.

I suppose. I kinda ignore a lot of those posts. If they've got hate, it's a them problem. The world recognizes what he did here, and I sure as **** appreciate it.

I sleep well.

You're not even close on the unanimous thing. The ratio - I can promise you - is significantly less. And you're battling against human nature, which is to react to what's going on currently. I could list off a ton of guys who are viewed differently now compared to when they were here or even shortly after. Sentiments change with time. You've been here for 18 years, so it's not like you haven't seen it in the past and I'm sure it will hold true down the road.

But again, to say it's a majority is untrue. And the reason why there's silence is because this debate has already happened ad nauseam on here. Most of us are over it and would rather not expend any more energy on it. I mean, the team is in the middle of a seven-game winning streak and are suddenly contenders, so most are focused on the here and now.

In the meantime, you can bet when he's inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, all of us will certainly recognize it and appreciate it.

Why is he screenshotting posts instead of quoting?

UNC +6.5 road dogs @Wake. The chance for a winning season may end on Saturday.

Wake is pretty good. They have one of those do-everything QBs. They just beat UVA last week, who was in the top-15 I think.

Edit: Also Wake really needs the game, they have a shot at the ACC Championship game with only one loss in the conference.
So does Duke later on, I think, they also don't suck.

Is what it is. That's human nature, man. I don't know what to tell you.

For now, you're battling against the tide in an argument that's been going on since Brady left. The vast majority have an appreciation for what he did - and still appreciate him - while a handful might feel otherwise. But again, that number is absolutely less than you think, and the "silence" is of those of us who don't feel like debating something that doesn't need to be debated for the 1000th time.

Because I can't see them unless I log out. They are trying to censor me.
And I don't know why you're expending so much energy on that. Focus on those of us who do want to talk to you.

I'm aware of what I'm battling against. I don't see why that means I should get censored.

And the vast majority of your members say one thing while pooping all over him. Actions speak louder than words.

I do believe the vast majority of Patriot fans still believe. I don't believe this community accurately reflects New England. Which is why I call this place the leading place in New England to hate Bill Belichick.

We didn't start the fire...

You're inferring the majority here feel that way. That's not accurate. You're also acting like this is a new discussion and those of us who don't feel that way are sitting it out. That's not the case. Most people have just moved on and are focusing on the 2025 season after already having spent multiple offseasons going back to 2020 having this discussion. There's no point in rehashing it. And I can't do anything about how people feel or don't feel. It is what it is.

Either way, the fact is that emotions and opinions change with time, and unfortunately, as much as I appreciate him, he's pushed that timeline back for anyone who is on the fence due to recent events. And you're expending a lot of energy defending a guy who, at the end of the day, his overall body of work will go down as one of the best ever. Regardless of the opinions, that can't be taken away from him. But a lot of what's happening currently sort of needs to go away to make that easier for people to remember.
