The Atlanta Falcons Have Hung Their Own Version Of A Participation Trophy In Their New Stadium

What a dumb thing. It's not even a record. Some dude had 4 sacks in the Super Bowl. But it was before they started counting the sacks. But counting sacks in a Super Bowl is simple enough.

Blank should be embarrassed for allowing this to be hung.

What a bunch of babies

Do we think Kraft was embarrassed hanging that 16-0 banner, though? I know we as fans were.

By the way, does anyone know where this is? Looks like it's in some place where people walk?

Would love a rematch with them but this time with gronkowski.

I wrote a big long post on the 16-0 banner debate a few years back and TBH I wasn't totally embarrassed by it. I know some fans think it smacked of a participation trophy and I can totally see it, but for that team I think it was just Bob's way of acknowledging their hard work and accomplishments even though the season didn't result in a title.

I would agree the banner wasn't really necessary and runs counter to the mindset of that organization (even though BB has said that team was special but stopped short of commenting on the actual banner)

With that said once they took it down I was ok with that too as the just won SB49 and I was at the point being sick of seeing it on TV or when I was in the stadium as it reminded me of that ****ty night.

Well at least 16-0 has only been accomplished once. It would be more like having an "Tied for most wins in season" banner

I seem to remember another record was set in that Super Bowl. Can't remember exactly what, though.

Probably because Brady set so many

Biggest comeback
Most 4th Q comebacks
Most Super Bowl Wins by a QB
Most completed passes

etc

If real (and I can't believe it might be), you'd think they would try to blot out the memory of that game...not call attention to it.

It'snot am actual banner. More like a photomural in a bar.

Don't count me as one of those embarrassed fans. Going 16-0 in today's NFL was a legit accomplishment.

More of an accomplishment than one dude getting 3 sacks in a game where they blew the biggest lead in Super Bowl history, I would say.
