The 2013 Prospect Thread

nice overall draft i personally would rather get quinton patton in the third than ogletree but Austin is my 2nd favorite receiver in the draft and would be nice then we probably wouldnt resign Edelmen. I like all the lower round picks as well. I hope we trade our first for a 1st next year and maybe another 3rd this year and keep the 2nd. I havent seen much of Carradine but hasnt he had a little bit of a down season? all in all of nice draft that i would be happy with i also like youre udfa of kyle juscyk hes a personal favorite

Quite the opposite on Carradine. Came in to the season as a backup but got playing time when Brandon Jenkins got injured and looked almost as dominant as Werner. Unfortunately got injured towards the end of the season. At times, he looks just like Chandler Jones. Might actually be a better pass rusher. Certainlt his FSU tape is better than Jones' Syracuse tape. Has Jones' long arms.

As for Ogletree, he's a physical freak. Really long arms, very fast for the position and whilst he has flaws, is a real playmaker on defense.

If we can get Carradine in the 3rd, there's your extra 2014 1st rounder. If it looks like his knee will recover, put him on PUP and then IR if he can't go this year. Replaces Cunningham in 2014.

Ninkovich is a FA in 2014 too, so that'd be a smart pick. I'm pumped about our three man DE rotation for the playoffs and 2013 though. Jones, ninkovich, Francis.

really? wow felt like i had heard of carradine before and thought he had dropped for some reason i guess not comparing him to werner and jones is crazy and from the sound of it could be a steal in the 3rd ill have to watch him a little more. Would you see Ogletree as someone that might take a year to make the transition and fix his flaws or do you think he will be able to contribute right away?

His flaws are that he's just not strong enough to take on blockers in the run game. In space he's outstanding. Use him in the nickel sets on D where he can move about in space. At the moment we've got Mayo-Hightower doing that. Swap out Hightower and put in Ogletree and we'd take the middle of the field away.

sounds good ill have to take a look at some tape on him. I wonder what the pats will do in free agency this year because that will really determine who we should draft btw. we should trade our first round pick to the jets for their first round pick next year and a 6th or 7th rounder. The jets would probably get Wilson or Bray at that pick and would probably have to wait a couple years before they became good QB's meanwhile we would have their 2014 top 10 draft pick in our back pocket

For the most part, this draft seems so much better than last years. And the one guy that is really standing out to me lately is alex okafor. I was watching texas to see kenny vacarro but okafor caught my attention instead. Then i watched some of his clips afterward and he more than anyone reminds me of chandler jones. He's a good pass rusher and very stout in the run game.

What are you thoughts on Kruger? Is he strictly a 3-4 DE or can he play outside in a 4-3 as well and move inside on NASCAR packages? At 6'7" 280# he has the size I covet in a LDE. Not sure how high he projects.

Haven't watched him yet. I've got a few Utah games. Will get round to it.

Supposedly he played much of the season on a bum ankle, which hindered his mobility. He also apparently was used standing up at times, FWIW.

According to nfldraftscout.com, David Quessenberry is rising. He's now the 10th ranked tackle (from 15th). I'm sure it's because they read this forum.
