The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

Actually there is a perfect German word for it: "cloud ****oo land" is the English translation.

I don't speak German so I can't give you the actual word, but it exists. It's one of those long, guttural German words which ( by the looks of it anyway) makes you sound like you are coughing up a hairball....and I know about it because it has been used to describe the fantasy world inside Hitlers thinking in his bunker as the Russians rolled into Berlin....so it is just perfect for the Jests.

Schadenfreude.....although that's not specifically for the Jets.

Actually, maybe it is.

Rats fans discussing Woodhead on JI still show they have no clue. If it isn't "shiny" it has no value to them.

"He was a flash in the pan for the pasts.

Bothered taking a look at his stats this year? I didnt, but did anyhow last week......not a gamebreaker by any means."

Actually, I recommend the whole thread as a fan base demonstrates extreme cluelessness on how football games are won.

Woodhead/McElroy - Jets Insider.com Forums

To be fair, there's a reasonable contingent of non-idiotic posts in that thread. But yeah, way too many that are idiotic for a single fan base.

It's amazing how many of these idiotic homers did not realize what was happening in 2009-10 when the Jets were going all in. They blindly drank the Tannenbaum Kool-Aid all the way through while the Jets made one short-sighted move after another, building a "win-now" team while screwing the future. Every time Tannenbaum would push the cap hits back one more year, and these idiot fans thought they would eventually escape with no consequences. It's funny that now they act so completely shocked and indignant, while all the time Tannenbaum and Ryan were botching draft picks and throwing wheelbarrows of money at shiny free agents, they were pumping their chests and praising the "aggressive" Jets brass.

And losing the locker room? The locker room was lost in 2009, the day Ryan stepped in. The only difference is that they are losing now... they were always a bunch of immature punks, but Jets fans thought it was the greatest when they'd run their mouths about how great they were; they don't like it now that they run their mouths about how they suck. The fans deserve this epic meltdown as much as everyone. They reveled in all of the success that came from a short-sighted, brash culture, and they even embraced it. Time to see the ugly side now.

We Patriots fans seem to miss that the amazing 78.2 QB rating of Sanchez in his sophomore season is proof that the kid has what it takes to be great. Those two AFCCG appearances, don't you understand.

It's not as if subpar QBs like Trent Dilfer ever get to the Super Bowl or anything.

Haha, it's so awesome, instead of calling Sanchez a bottom 10 QB like we have his whole career, I think it's fair to call him the worst starting QB in the NFL. More career INTs than TDs, 43 fumbles, 71 qbr, and 55% comp %.

Chad Henne-better career stats than Sanchez.
Kevin Kolb-much better career stats than Sanchez.
Christian Ponder-better career stats than Sanchez.
Jake Locker-better career stats than Sanchez.
Ryan Fitzpatrick-much better career stats than Sanchez.
Nick Foles- better stats, and a rookie.
Ryan Tannehill- better stats, and a rookie.
Carson Palmer- much better career stats than Sanchez.
Matt Cassel-better career stats, slightly better than Sanchez.

It's between Weeden and Sanchez for worst starting QB, and since Weeden's a rookie, ya gotta give Sanchez the nod.

The stupid part is they built a "win-now" team around a rookie/sophomore quarterback.

They were trying to Dilfer their way to a Super Bowl. Except Bart Scott ain't Ray Lewis circa 2000.

I'm all over that thread. I'm also the one that resurrected it yesterday with Woody's final stats.

That Warfish guy especially is determined to classify Woody as a "very minor" roleplayer. It's hilarious.

I had a good laugh when i read "flash in the pan for pasts" along with the rest of the jests fan brain trust's opinions about Woody. Besides lying to themselves about the decision to let Woody go being no big deal cause he isn't talented, it shows that they don't know a Winner when the see one. Just like the Jests FO.

"The final Buttfumble comes from Rex Ryan, who postponed his year-end press conference — brilliantly scheduled for seven hours before the start of 2013 — to hide under his desk on the day general manager’s Mike Tannenbaum’s head rolled past him.

So for Jets fans who needed to hear his fearless vision for a better tomorrow, his thoughts on Life After Tanny and Life After Tony (Sparano), here’s what you got from the humbled face of the franchise:

Happy New Rear!"

A quick question: now that a new year is upon us and the Jets' 2012 season has been rightfully consigned to its eternal resting spot amid the dustheap of history and ensured its first-ballot induction into the Hall of Fail, isn't it time to start the 2013 thread?

Good point -- as soon as the post-mortems for this season play out and the focus shifts to the search for a new GM to assume the mantle of suckitude, we should start the thread anew.

dyam...I missed being the first to coin this....must be slippin'

"I have a longtime Jets fan friend who has become so disgusted by the direction of the franchise he coined the term agnorance — combining arrogance and ignorance — which fits perfectly at the moment".

Jets manage to fumble PR of correct call to ax GM - NYPOST.com

does this make Wrecks an AGNOROID?

I'm pretty sure the correct term is agnoramus. Hmm. Agnoramus Rex. Sounds like it'd be a great sequel to the classic Greek tragedy Oedipus Rex. I wonder what "foot sucker" is in Greek?

Digitus Lickatoepolis....

Great leaders make the necessary changes. Jets fans want a football coach. Not a drama king or circus ringmaster. They want a football team. Not the soap opera “As The World Turns Your Stomach.”

We first started them around training camp. This year, they started during the draft time or something. I don't think we'd want to start any sooner than the new NFL season at the earliest, do you?
