Re: Jets' Coples Removed From Starting Base Formations

The coaching philosophy is sound, Tune.

No it is not, Ken. Not on any level, and especially not the pro level. These are human beings, not horses that need to be tamed by being "broken." I have to think that what Pettine said was more hyperbole than fact. Anything other than that makes him a moron, and Coples a moron's puppet.

i have no nuanced take on whether or not Coples quit in college or whether he'll pan out, but they did kind of put him in an unfair position. What kind of coach just announces that a draft pick will be a starter right from the get go? From what I read it sounded like they just threw him right in the deep end and found out that he was more confused by all the responsibilities they were giving him than actually learning. Hopefully this means he's dim and has a poor work ethic and will bust etc., but I'm not going to jump to any conclusions other than Rex gonna Rex.

Tebow for real except for one thing......Throwing the football

OOOOPS, Throwing the ball is just a tad important if your a qb in the NFL

Stephen A. Smith -- Tim Tebow is the real deal, except for this throwing arm - ESPN New York

Except, Tim Tebow has had to throw the football. Quite often, as the New York Jets entered their fourth day of training camp. And while doing so -- despite evidence that he knows how to win football games and is clearly in possession of an "it" factor few have been blessed with -- all the former Florida All-American has done is force anyone with two eyes to echo unflattering sentiments in unison, no matter how much it pains them to do so:Tebow simply cannot throw the football

Re: Jets' Coples Removed From Starting Base Formations

=====================================

Tune, I think the idea is to let QC know what worked in college may not work in the NFL, break him down (Or brake for Joker) and have him start over from a blank slate and coach him up from there. Rex, Pettine, and Karl Dunbar are all highly respected defensive minds and we have to assume they have done this befor (Wilkerson).

are you insinuating I can't spell worth a dyam?...that I'm the Patsfans equivalent of "Don'T HaveACanary Don'T HaveACanary 19"..?.....Shirley you J-E-S-T....

Re: Jets' Coples Removed From Starting Base Formations

You have made my point better then I.(and that's quite a "feet" considering the lowest you've ever placed in the Zippy The Pinhead look-alike contest is 2nd place).. The guy is a first round pick of the Jets,(..so was Goatstonette).. the fans are going to expect a All Pro out of the gate,(sounds like Gholstonholm Syndrome).. would it be better to try and temper those expectations, probably, but Hey that's NY.(there's a Tommy Boy quote in there somewhere)..

I can't say I am worried about the guy 1 week in to camp, Pettine also said that QC is playing with a chip on his shoulder,(wha???...paint chip??..buffalo chip??..oh wait, it's Rex's team...of course..CHOCOLATE CHIP!) wants to prove the naysayers wrong, considering some of the rap he has coming out of college,(looks like he's already been sentenced to life for terminal "duh" disease).... I find that remark quite encouraging.(..mark...remark...you can grade this stiff a hundred times ...underwater...with a telescopic fisheye lens...he still comes out...()

But yes I would also like to here reports of him blowing up the O-line, and I haven't.

Hey Guns..how's the rainy season going out there???

Looks like another ugly day for the Jets offense; following up on Jets writers' comments, Bedard introduces "suckitude" to the conversation:

I really don't know how the Jets writers differentiate the level of suckitude they must see on a daily basis.

Are you sure about this statement?? Bart Scott really makes me wonder....

Rex Ryan can make his greatest career accomplishment by purchasing a muzzle.

Ran across this and didn't see this posted here.

Apparently the JETs safties are TALKING big. Say they can cover
Gronk and AH.

New Jets safeties LaRon Landry and Yeremiah Bell believe they can stop Patriots tight ends | New York Daily News

Why do JETs players have the need to talk trash? Why not just say
no comment and do it on game day?
Is there a PATs player that talks that way?

Interesting to see the Jets defensive coordinator say they've studied the Pats offense during the off season and made notes. Jeez, he even says the Pats offense is "certainly on our radar." Quite a revolutionary approach; wonder if any other teams will start doing that now?

It's this new fad, it's pronounced SOUT-ing. The c is soft.

LOLOL. Last season, acc to PFF, Bell was 4/5 for 49 yards vs Gronk.
Good luck.

I wonder if they realize that there is a new OC in charge of the offense and that what they saw last year might not be exactly the same this year...STUPID JESTS!

Simple answer for Bedard:

Eskimos are rumored to have 40-odd words for snow.

So with Jets writers and sucking.

I think I found out who Rah Rah really is. I'm watching NFL Yearbook right now featuring the 2011 New YorK Jets. It called "Ready to Launch"

The narrator, James Gandolfini, boldly(with the backdrop of some very epic sounding music) states that "for the first time in three years the Jets did not make the AFC Championship game in 2011.....but they did win eight games...proving that this team has talent and potential.

Pretty uplifting huh James.....or is it Rah Rah?:singing:

What the narrator (Rah Rah) failed to specify is exactly HOW MUCH talent and the potential to DO WHAT?

I wish I had James Gandofini as my dad. In high school, I was a straight C student and I argued to my father that he shouldn't get upset because it proved that I had talent and potential. For some reason, he didn't buy that argument.
