I would have been so pissed if they kept that flag. Mahomes and other QBs (but particularly Mahomes) needs to learn to get rid of the ball and that defenders will not let up on you near the sideline anymore if you still have it because him and other QBs have abused that privilege too much and now defenders finish. So the sideline should not offer the same protection to QBs it did. If you want to avoid a hit throw it or don't wait to the very last second to get out of bounds.
