Some people can't take a lighthearted joke unfortunately. I thought it was funny, and apparently a bunch of others did as well. That's all that matters. As with any WR, Cooks has yet to prove he can be on the same page as Brady. I like the signing, but assuming Dola will get cut is premature IMO.
Have you considered expressing opinions and predictions as things you believe are probable instead of using such an authoritative tone? Such an approach will likely lead to more congenial responses and less negative ratings thrown back and forth.
Also, throwing a dislike @karguy85 seems a little harsh. He was adding some much needed levity to the thread.
Cooks deal is totally awesomeWith the addition of Cooks, I can't see how the Pats keep Amendola at all. They have Edelman, Cooks, Mitchell, and Hogan ahead of him. Not to mention Gronkowski, Allen, White, and Lewis.
I can't see the Pats keeping Amendola when they can free up 6.4M by cutting him outright..
And yes.. I don't care for this deal because I feel the Pats gave up too much and I feel that having Cooks will cut into Mitchell's development since they have Hogan as well.

Cooks and Hogan are both insurance policies for Edelman.
Any reason to think that Amendola wouldn't agree to the same deal as last year, or something quite similar? If so, we get a helluva "WR5"/possession receiver/Edelman backup/special teams player who is very familiar with our system. It would be awesome if Danny agrees with you. That's the rub. We'll see.

What makes a 1.5m dollar salary so prohibitive, specifically for a guy who knows and produces in the system when needed? And in multiple roles, no less.I love the DA support group here. Clearly this group, along with the "Tag and keep JG in 2018", believe Belichick has entered a bizarro universe where $$$ is no longer a limitation. (except for Butler)
Soon to be #5 WR..........the 2016 #4 WR managed 23 catches (1.5/game) in the 2016 regular season.....Lets keep him at full salary, or knock a few hundred grand off (my personal favorite) because only DA makes the playoff catches?
I'm guessing the same faction believes Gronk is underpaid and deserves a bump in salary despite the slight inconvenience of rarely seeing the end of the season.....why not.....Bizarro BB is just givin it away.

I don't understand. Many teams, including the Patriots most years, carry five wide receivers. I am not sure why their tight ends and running backs would have anything to do with Amendola.
No one is paying him big money.I don't know what makes Danny tick. I'm sure every player has their own take on getting paid vs. playing for a winner, with their idea of where the equilibrium exists. Does two titles shift things more towards the money at this point? We'll find out.

Chris
