Ok, here we go. Let’s say Carter and Hunter are gone, and the Pats still decide to go for a pass catcher at 4. This is not a thread about arguing that the Pats should trade down, blah blah blah. It’s a simple thread, who would you want the Pats to pick if they are going pass catcher at 4 between McMillan and Warren (and nobody else).

Warren , but that is maybe going down a rabbit hole

Different kind of players.

This is the Randy Moss v Gronk argument but on a less talented scale.

I don't pretend to be a huge draftnik, but it seems like consensus is that Warren is an elite prospect at his position whereas McMillan is much more flawed but the position happens to be more valuable. Warren seems like a guy with more realistic chance to be making pro bowls and all pro teams.

In general though, I think Gronk, Kelce, Kittle dominating the league at the same time kind of inflated how fans think of TEs and their ability to be "#1 receiver" types. The absolute very best like this guys... sure. But even the second and third tier TEs, while they might be "elite" at their position" don't really dictate coverage and terrorize coordinators the way fans think. At any given time there are "X" number of truly special talents at the TE spot but once you get past that couple of guys you have ones who might still make pro bowls and all pro teams but aren't really THAT impactful IMO. They can be a key cog in the offense but usually they just aren't explosive enough to really dictate coverage.

can this go to the draft section

Warren. More of a sure thing, in my opinion, and I want nothing to do with a receiver who runs 4.55-4.6 in the top 10. The whole premise of the thread, however, is fantasyland because they would never take either of those guys at 4.

Jeanty if we have to make the pick.

Kid could be part Barkley part AP
Not a choice in the poll. But yeah, he’s incredibly talented. If I had to bet on “sure things” in this draft, I would say Hunter, Carter, Jeanty & Warren are sure things in this draft. Though we all know there are no sure things.

WR is the bigger need and at least for us has been the harder one to fill too. Even if it's a reach it's time to invest more heavily at WR.

I don't think you can go TE at 4 unless you guarantee it's gonna be Gronk. Gun to my head I go Tet but I won't like it

Agree but if Warren has a Brock Bowers year no one will complain we didn't draft Tet.
I voted Warren BUT…don’t you ever compare MISTER Brock Bowers…a Damned Good Dawg, and generational TE with Warren again.

Warren is a sure thing but tight end isn’t a position you take top 5, top 10 sure,
As terrified as I am I would love Tet to prove to me his is Mike Evans.
