I still don't understand this. If Brady didn't have anything to hide (which I believe he didn't) and knew the text records would essentially exonerate him completely why didn't he just cooperate? He had a chance to clear his name and just refused to do so for what reason? I can't think of a logical reason to not to allow the text records to be examined unless there was incriminating stuff in there and knew he was better off just refusing completely.

Can anyone explain why? I'm sure I'm missing something here and would like to hear someone to elaborate on his motive to not allow the text printouts to be processed. That's just the one thing here that doesn't click with me.

He didn't for one main reason. Many have said they don't trust the NFL to do what's right. That is very true. The NFL also has an problem with leaks and that was a big concern. I also don't think they needed hiss home. The evidence didn't show anything nefarious so why not just take his word for it? Now he's saying that he didn't need the phone, just print off what they wanted. You can taken that for what it's worth. So in the end, it's a trust issue.

It's easy now for Wells to say he didn't need to touch it and Brady could just print them out. But if that happened we'd be hearing Brady was non cooperative for not allowing Wells to touch it. There's often not an end point on these things.

Perhaps Brady has given them the transcript of every communication asked for. In that case, the suspension will be overturned. If not, the question will stand, no matter what happens.

Brady is being suspended for not fully cooperating. Why shouldn't folks want to know in what way he didn't cooperate and why not?

Without a subpoena I would never hand over texts/email/call logs, nothing. There's just no way. I would rather be suspended for 4 games than hand them over. There was no getting out of the suspension, they would just be fixating on something else right now if he did. Like McNally going into the bathroom. It was going to be 4 games regardless. Yes, in the eyes of himself, the patriots, and Patriot Nation, Brady fully cooperated. And F...Y.. to anyone who disagrees. Much of the rest of the world seems to disagree.

That was the main thing I considered. The texts have a different context based on things that have happened/been said in his personal life and you're leaving out of context messages to be interpreted however Wells wanted to.

Did you read what Wells did with the text messages in the Incognito case?
Did you read that he included texts from JJ in the report that had nothing to do with the case but made it look like he has the 50000 yard jersey that is supposed to be in the Pats HOF?
To think that his texts would be treated fairly is nuts.

JJ and JM traded texts that 'he' asked about you and 'he' said you must have stress getting it done.
JJ and JM said that 'he' was JJs friend because JMs sister was very ill and they were trying to figure out how to deal with the season tickets and JJs friend had dealt with something like that. JJs friend corroborated that story.
Wells concluded that all 3 were lying and the only credible explanation was that he was Brady and the stress was about taking air out of footballs.
Are you seriously telling me you would show any texts sent to anyone to someone with that agenda and lack of concern for the truth?

Who knows what he keeps on this phones as far as personal stuff about his wife and family. Picture this (and I am in no way saying this is the case). Imagine if the multi-cajillion dollar model wife sent him some personal and private photos that were on there somewhere?

Imagine the irreparable damage that would do to her reputation if that got LEAKED to TMZ? Would you turn over your phone in that situation to an agency that has already demonstrated a HUGE propensity on lack of information control (e.g. prior leaks)? Hell No… Even if it isn’t naked pictures of Gisle. Maybe it’s personal health information about his parents, etc…… There are any number of personal reasons that such a high profile person would want possibility of his personal business getting out, and none of which have anything to do with deflating footballs.

Okay, well as a former prosecutor what is your take on what that means in a federal setting? Would that be looked as hiding something or would it be okay?
