Tebow working on zone-read plays in practice (EDIT: and "catching passes" too)

Ian - I have no problem with what you have said here and the only thing that I ask is that this is also relayed to some of the same veteran posters on your website because the pot shots and insults have been flying around for quite some time as well.

I have communicated it to yourself and a couple of moderators over the last couple of months as well.

Either way - all of the Tebow supporters that have been this website since last month were placed on ignore yesterday and I have refrained from speaking with any of them but one poster about a comment that was made about Mallett.

I will continue to follow your comments that were made yesterday and today as well as what PatsNutsMe said yesterday as well regarding reporting rude posts, such as the one that was made by Kontradiction a few minutes ago.

Hope that you are having a good day....

Unfortunately in your case, Kontradiction has a point, and we have a level of behavior we expect here and unfortunately a lot of the new posters from there couldn't adhere to it so there have been a bunch removed - although there have been several good ones.

This forum has been here since 2000 in some form or another and I'm not altering the rules for people coming over from another place that basically shut down because of all the nonsense that went on there. If the "World Wide Leader" didn't have the patience for it, obviously we don't either

Ok, sounds good Ian....I will make sure that all of my posts are on point without any personal remarks.

This board was called Patriots Talk wasn't it?

I remember this board didn't have registration way back in the day which meant clones would show up here..... Clones are the worst kind of trolls a board could have. I was cloned a few times before i stopped posting and moved to espn.

No, that was a different forum. Clones aren't permitted, nor are duplicate registrations, etc. New registered members are also screened to prevent those occurrences from happening.

Oh I see. I thought that was the name of this message board, or maybe it was just the platform or something. Long time ago.

That's good about the screening. The worst part about clones back then (and it wasn't just this board) was they could post as your screen name. That's why they are the worst. I'm sure mine were from Raider fans still sore about the tuck rule.

Oh was this what Deus meant by calling me a clone all those times? Here I thought he was just implying that I was stupid.

Too late for me to take the nickname WRATH OF GOD and say good things about our coach and team while being respectful of other peoples opinions even when they differed from my own?

Drats!

More support for the notion of Tebow working in the backfield alongside Brady on goal line downs. This is from Matt Waldman- the guy who liked Kenbrell Thompkins before any of us did (so not a dope):

How I?d Use Tim Tebow In New England | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio

But what I love most about this look is that Tebow could run, pass, or catch from his alignment. Placing Tebow behind Sudfeld on the wing provides enormous flexibility in the run game. If the defensive numbers are stacked to the strong side, they can run a counter with Sudfeld as a lead blocker and the twin receivers slanting inside to seal the inside.

If the defenses has even distribution, Tebow can run behind the strong side with good blocks ahead. The Patriots could do this with a direct snap to Tebow or an exchange from Brady.

And it’s this split of the quarterbacks over the guards that could force defenses to guess which player is getting the ball. Teams will guess run if it goes to Tebow, pass to Brady. But Tebow has proven he can deliver the ball in the red zone and there will be times he will have easy throws to Gronkowski or Sudfeld and even easier passes to his left (his natural side) to the backside receivers.

This is more how I envisaged Tebow working in the backfield.

Anyway, it is what it is, an article about the Patriots in a relevant thread.

Yep, good article, though I'm not even close to sold on having 2 QBs in the shotgun.

Having him in these sets in camp FORCES other teams to practice for it...slight pressure but pressure nonetheless...and...perhaps all you Tebow fans are not very familiar with the overwhelming enmity BB has for the Jets...how he takes any loss to them harder than almost anything else...how he enjoys obliterating the Jets in NJ every chance he gets...how, given a player that Wrecks even REFUSED to give a slight chance to all last season, he intends to roll out a formation like this in the 2nd game of the season at home...a win is big, a win with Tebow contributing against the Sexy Wrecksie Blabbermouth defense is a haymaker...an early season embarrassment with Tebow figuring prominently on the back cover of the NY Post could lame duck that toe sniffing degenerjet for the rest of the season.

It COULD top the "Buffumble!" game and send the Rats back in their holes for another five years. I'm 100% on board for ANYTHING that humiliates this disgusting profanity of a franchise.

Seems that Bill isn't the only one who feels this way. I'd absolutely love it if Tebow was somehow involved in destroying the Jets.

Here's the stat line that would make my day:

TBrady (1st Half). 20-25, 360 Yds, 4 TD's, 0 INTs.
Tebow (2nd Half). 18-25, 280 Yds, 2 TD's, 0 INTs, PLUS 10 Rushes, 120 Yds, 2 TDs.

For good measure, throw in 8 2 pt conversions for Tebow as well.

Seriously, even as a decoy in the red zone, Tebow in the backfield would have to command attention..and I notice you Tebowers seem to be almost oblivious to the fact that there is a player named Gronkowski due to return to active status early in the season...the play action possibilities are scary.

Not oblivious to that fact at all. I just wonder how effective Tebow would be in that situation, as I've never seen him used effectively (or should I say, wisely) as anything other than a QB. I personally think he should stay off the field unless he's at QB. The Gators did wonders with Tebow coming in as a change of pace to Chris Leak in that national title run, but I'm not sure if taking Brady off the field is a good idea.

I agree that he would command attention. Just don't know how good he'd do in that role. I guess we'll see how it pans out. I'd love to see a passing wildcat play against the Jets that results in a touchdown though. Just for that one game to stick it to Rex. Other than that, QB2 is where I think Tebow serves the Pats best, if he legitimately beats Mallet for the job. If not, then QB3 and scout team leader.

640 Passing yards.. that is about 100 yards more than the existing record.

60 plays involving QB's... that is not a very balanced attack.

Dude, the post was in reply to Joker's post. Here, I'll save you the trouble of scrolling up to find it.

Notice how "over the top" that post is ?

Now, reread my post in context as a response to that one.

It's not hard to figure out, definitely not rocket science. Hell, look at the last sentence:

For good measure, throw in 8 2 pt conversions for Tebow as well.

How in the world does that not SCREAM hyperbole ?

Everybody has different opinions, and mine were essentially based on what I saw in TC on Tuesday.. he looked slow, took a long time to release the ball and seemed awkward in the pocket..

He spent a lot of time on the side field with not sure whom, but not the top players on this team..

There a lot of resources being utilized on this kid, and he may make it.. but a third string emergency quarterback is usually only activated in a game when the first QB goes down.. he does not change back and forth from the "inactive" list to the active list. If he makes the team he may not be part of the 45 active players during a game.

Have you been hitting the Scotch or something ?

IT WAS HYPERBOLE.

I'll try to make it easier.

Joker basically said "I'd love it if Belichick used Tebow to embarrass toe sniffing degenerjet (Rex).

I then replied going over the top even further. 4 TDs in the first half for Brady, and then 2 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs in the second half for Tebow. And for good measure, throw in 8 2 pt conversions for Tebow as well.

Having Tebow as the QB for an entire half, throwing for 280 yds and 2 TDs as well as running for 120 yards and 2 more TDs, along with 8 2pt conversions would be a hell of a lot more embarrassing for Rex and the Jets than if Tebow came in and converted a 4th and goal from the 1 for a single TD.

HELLO ? You missed the part where it was HYPERBOLE, strangely enough, even after I said "IT WAS HYPERBOLE".

Don't get me wrong. I'm more than happy to engage in a serious and factual discussion about Tebow. But do you understand that the previous posts that you have questioned weren't intended to be taken as factual or as a prediction ??

I'd like to clear that up before continuing, just so that we are on the same page of reality.
