I'd be excited to have Tebow on the team... more so now than I was a couple years back when there was talk that the Patriots would draft him.
As mentioned, there would be no QB controversy as long as Brady is locked up at the Patriots QB and as long as it was clearly stated to the media and the team what role Tebow would play (e.g. not be the QB).
With Welker, Hernandez and Gronk, defenses find themselves in mismatches constantly. Adding Tebow would add a wrinkle that would drive a defensive coordinator crazy. Seriously, how do you account for Tebow, Welker, Gronk and Hernandez - not to mention a running back, a QB sneak or any other receiver?
I do think, overall, Tebow is a distraction. He brings too much attention with him and I don't think Bill wants to have the warmth of that spotlight on this team. If this team is going to be in the spot light, he'll want it to be because they are a team and they are successful. While Tebow isn't all about himself, the media would be.
