TB12 the WOAT of color commentators on FOX

Switch it up....

Who's the best currently?
In my non-scientific opinion, the best commentators right now are:

1. - Greg Olsen
2. - Charles Davis
3. - Trent Green

The only two good Pats on TV are Edelman and Rodney. Brady is not great and Gronk is terrible. McGinest was good too, but he’s not on tv anymore.
Willie prefers pummelling people in bars. I’ll admit : while I usually like to believe “we don’t know any of these people”, I was shocked. I’d have never guessed Willie would’ve gone bonkers in that way. Guess it just reinforces my original thoughts.

I'm sure that there are many others that I thankfully no longer remember.
I can't believe Dennis Miller didn't make your list.

He's awful. He needs to step aside next season and find something else to do with his time. He doesn't need the money.

The problem with almost all broadcasts is that we are seeing at one point the C team as headliners now. But most importantly, there are no iconic voices that compel us to watch these games.

Buck and Aikman and Collinsworth were low on the totem poll on Fox until Summerall retired and Madden moved on with Michaels to SNF. Buck has taken a lot of **** for some of his calls during games with no emotion. The Mitchel, Mitchel, Mitchel, Mitchel call and the silence during that one catch I won't mention.

Jim Nantz was known as a golf guy and was in the studio for CBS prior to replacing Greg Gumbel for some weird reason in 2004. He was awful for years as he couldn't shake the monotone golf voice until Romo forced him to match his energy.

SNF and MNF used to be awesome with having at least 3 guys in the booth. It's crazy how times have changed where Buck and Aikman are now the premier team in football.

Al Michaels has been mailing it in for years and he chased the paycheck doing the ****tiest games. Sometimes I forget he's still around.

Now we have Brady as the #1 team on Fox and I commend him for being up to the challenge, but he just doesn't have that iconic voice we've heard in the past.

I can't believe Dennis Miller didn't make your list.

I considered Dennis Miller, but he was so short-term (two seasons?), I ended up leaving him off the list.

Others have been caused my ears to bleed for far longer, which is genuinely aggravating.

I know he is a pre-game/halftime guy and not a commentator, but to me Terry Bradshaw is leaps and bounds far worse than any of his colleagues. He is just awful, and has been for about a decade or more.

Its still worth it for me so that anytime a fan base that likely hated him alot is watching their team lose they also have to hear him talking up the other team in that voice of his.

Greg Olsen is one of the worst. He NEVER explains anything.

That's one of the things that made Madden who he was. He didn't treat the audience like dummies, but he didn't talk to them like they were players, either. He talked to the audience like they had a decent understanding enough to get by, but any specific terminology he'd explain/illustrate.

Michaels may be mailing it in these days, but I'll take his form letters over just about anybody else's personalized letter (to stretch the metaphor). His sarcasm makes me laugh. He clearly doesn't really like Herbstreit and his over the top analytics. Herbstreit'll give some abstruse bit of statistical nonsense and Michaels will be totally nonplussed. His indifferent promo reads are also a classic. Also love when he points out that the nice footage that gets used is usually NOWHERE NEAR the stadium.

Like when they show Boston... "Beautiful downtown Boston...about 90 minutes away." I always imagine the producers just sighing Anyway.

When they paired Madden with Michaels after the disastrous Miller experiment, I've never seen/heard a commentator that looked so relieved and giddy as Al did that first Monday Night.

It truly is remarkable how Boston fans turn on their own when they aren’t playing for them anymore. TB12 walks on water as far as I’m concerned.
It is not "turning on him" to say he is not a good broadcaster.
He is not a god. He is a great football player.

Brady has always been uncomfortable/stiff in front of a camera and he’s not naturally gregarious. I think he’s average as a color commentator which is better than I expected.

lol if you mean mayo, there was nothing from the start to give a chance to
Have you actually listened to Brady doing a game?

He’s gotten better over the course of the season. He’s not great but he is $375 million richer.
