This is an 11 win team. They'll sweep Buffalo, beat the Jets in Foxboro, lions and browns are sure-fire wins, split with miami, take 2/3 of the packers/bears/vikings...i think they'll beat the colts (they're basically the mirror image of us...potent passing attack, suspect defense...only it's in foxboro this year) and likely lose 2 of 3 from the steelers/ravens/chargers...leaving us 11-5...with improvement, possibly 12-4...an ugly 11-5/12-4...but like Belichick says, it is what it is.

The defense has 14 games to improve and gel...and unlike last year, it's at least younger.

Brady is Brady. He'll throw for 4,000 yards and I expect more TDs than last year...somewhere in the 30-35 range and about 12 INT.

It's just a matter of peaking at the end, and luckily, the latter part of the schedule seems to be easier.

Re: Stop worrying.

Who are you trying to convince?

Re: Stop worrying.

Those on the board who are worried over one early season loss.

Re: Stop worrying.

Call me crazy but I see us beating the Bills, the Dolphins beating the Jets then us beating the Fins in Miami.
I really do!! I see us going into Miami and beating the 3 - 0 Dolphins.

The reason I say this is I think the way the Jets game was lost will be a catalyst for real and positive change with this offense. I think Brady GETS IT now. I think we'll see some real changes with the playcalling and I think Tom know nows he's got to get back to being the Brady of old, my favorite receiver is the open receiver.
This offense will be lethal if Brady gets back to his old ways.

Regarding the defense = you can't teach experience
There are going to be good days and there are going to be bad days. It's that simple.
Hopefully as the year goes on these kids will mature and settle down

But as this young defense struggles it's up to the supremely talented offense to carry this team
They are very capable of doing so and I expect to see an old familiar face in the coming weeks, Tom Brady
hooking up with his favorite receiver, the open one.

It's more than one loss, its a trend that started last year and its rearing its head again this year - not being able to finish games. The coaching staff is unable or unwilling to make in-game adjustments.

The Miami game in 2 weeks will tell alot about where this team is headed. If we encounter the same 2nd half issue and lose that one, I have a very hard time seeing us in the playoffs. After that bye we have

@ SD
@ PITT
Indy
Minny
GB
Balt
NYJ
Miami

You don't want to enter the bye week at 2-2 with all that coming up. Now a win there and the offense actually shows up in the 2nd half, you start to feel like we can take around 5 of the above games, realistic shot at 11-5/12-4.

Amen OP! Can I get a witness, it's nice to see something positive on the board. Hopefully this loss will send a reality check to everybody on the team. That being said, if we can't beat the Bills on sunday, time to hit the panic button...

The Jets are going 15-1 (per Sanchez) so now I'm worried we won't make the playoffs! /sarcasm

This.

The Pats need to play 4 quarters of football against Miami. They need to score in the 4th quarter. They need key stops in the 4th quarter. They need big plays in the 4th quarter.

Am I guilty of looking past the Bills? Yes, probably, but the Miami game is the biggest test of the season for this young team.

I say stop worrying because ultimately our worry does nothing to improve the situation. Everyone is moody after a bad loss like that, especially since we have only 1 other performance to go on. It's a long season, let's ride it where it goes.

Re: Stop worrying.

It's more the way that it was lost. Fortunately,it was only game 2 of a 16 game schedule, but it proved the point that there needs to be a major shakeup. What happened yesterday is becoming commonplace with this team, and it must be fixed, quickly.

Can it be fixed? Sure, of that there is no doubt in my mind. The talent is there, it just has to be used in proper fashion.

Well put.

Looking forward to beating up on the Bills.
