Taylor showed promise last season and is that shifty/short 3rd down man that NE always has.

He may have regressed though.

Yep, Bolden does everything not great, but good and knows his role. Does his job.

He is content playing Special Teams, but can make a big play in the offense when called up.

I'm not in favor of cutting/trading Michel. He's looked improved thus far this year and quietly got 5.7 ypc last year. I think with the increased receptions in camp BB is grooming him to be the heir apparent to White. I think JJ Taylor is the odd man out.

I assume those particular stats refer to speed after the catch. So some of these WR plays look like receivers running down the field fast and catching a long bomb; others refer to fast runs after a short catch.

Yeah, it seems like if you were drafted in the first two rounds (Michel, Maroney, Ridley) you play a significant role in year 1. Anything beyond that (Vereen, White, Harris) and you pick it up in year 2. That said, the RB group this year is going to be REALLY interesting, because you've also got Bolden and Taylor in the mix. Unless they're keeping 6, someone's gotta go.

In some ways it feels like I'm just nitpicking, but it does show that we had a draft where we took 2 RB and the later one played first.

Here's my new theory, which Damien Harris is a counterexample to: the receiving backs are the ones who need more time in the system whereas it's easier for the rushing oriented ones to plug and play.

When asked about Agholor's absence from practice recently Jakobi Meyers said (paraphrasing) Nelson's presence creates space underneath for he and Bourne to make plays. Speed is a component needed on this offense the same way physicality or mobility is... there's a different tool for every job.

Bigger, faster, stronger, mobility and explosion all factor in. The absolute elite skill players in the league are a who's who of amazing measurables. Stevenson's speed isn't amazing, but his mobility is and all the rest of his measurables are decent. Ultimately beyond the mental capabilities Tyreek running a 4.2 forty and 6.53 cone is why he gets double teamed on every play and Gilmore's extraordinary combination of mobility, speed and strength is why he can cover the league's best without help.
