Steven Jackson!

Sorta Kinda on topic ...

The simple truth is that when it comes to the plug-and-play approach at running back, no one is more equipped to succeed than the Patriots. New England rotated three “feature” backs last season in Blount, Jonas Gray and Stevan Ridley, and became the first Super Bowl champion since the 1987 Redskins to have at least four running backs finish the season with at least 40 carries. And the Patsalso were the first team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl without having a single player with 100 rush attempts in the regular season.

Despite losing Ridley and Vereen in the offseason, it’s more of the same this year. New England has a chance to have at least four backs finish with 40 or more carries: Blount (165), Dion Lewis (49), Bolden (35) and White (16). That doesn’t even begin to take into account the possibility of Ball or (maybe) Jackson getting some work work between now and the end of the season.

I'd love for this signing to happen, but at the end of the day, if it doesn't, I won't get upset. One certainly has to trust Bill's judgement.

I just hope we sign a capable Running Back to the active roster before game day....
Best bet is Montee Ball on Saturday.

Not sure if he'll be ready for Sunday. Report is he is out of shape, it's probably why he went to the PS, get him back into shape while learning the offense.

Honestly would not shock me if come playoffs Ball and Jackson are both on the 53.

This would be logical. He has been with the team the longest and should be in shape.
We should all agree that having only two available running backs is taking a heck of a chance

What could be holding up a deal with Jackson? A couple what if's ...

1. he had a very impressive workout and is in great shape...however he wants a 2 year deal.
2. if their is a possible 2 year deal..then what does that mean for UFA Blount next year. perhaps Blunt and Jackson could share the power back duties? maybe their won't be enough carries to go around if that's the case.

Maroney is in the mix too..

For dancing with the Stars?

They took Rodney to the ground round? they must not thought to much of him otherwise they would have taken him to the 99.
Great story believe it or not it was a huge selling point for Rodney he was like whoa this is all business no pomp and circumstance and they want me just for my football skills with a legitimate plan on how to use me.

As I understand it....BB brought a notebook and drew up a ton of plays that Rodney loved - which got him going. 1/2 way through Rodney took the pen away from BB and drew up what he and Seau did in SD.

That got BB excited about Seau...

Ground Round was always a step up from 99s. They were in turn a bit better than Bonanza.

I use to go to the ground round in the 70's, it was a step up from friendly's so maybe.

I don't want a Blount Jackson combination next year, that's two running backs either near or well over 30. What are we, a RB retirement home?

I don't think either Blount or Jackson will be on this team next year. I'm thinking that at least 2 draft picks will be rbs.

Maybe Matt Forte will pass up top dollar to play for a winner..... no, that isn't a serious statement.

We don't need Jackson for next year, we just need him for 3 games.

Ground Round LOL .... that place was horrible ... admittedly a step up from Friendly's yes ...
What made Ground round good in RI anyways was that it replaced HoJo's ...
man that joint sucked more than any other.

Back in the 70's .... Lum's .... absolutely.
Hot dogs steamed in beer ... stuffies ... and beer of course.

LUM'S BEER HOTDOG

1 can beer.
2 cans water (use empty beer can.)
1 teaspoon sugar.
1 teaspoon garlic powder.
1 teaspoon caraway seeds.
1/4 wedge of a fresh onion.

One Package, John Morrell's, New York Deli Brand, Beef Franks
or your favorite brand of all-beef hot dogs. Lums used a 1/4 pounder hotdog.
Bring everything to a boil, reduce heat to a lowest heat and let stew for no less then15 minutes or longer for more intense flavor.

Maybe four or five games…
We need to ensure there are only three post season games, so one or two of the last regular season games need to pull out all the stops as well.

One thing that could be holding Stephen Jackson back is we can only offer the veteran minimum and he is weighing the risks of playing for such low money. Maybe we could offer a coaching position after; wink wink nod nod
