Steelers @ Pats all-22 thread

Wynn was by far our best OL the other night. Not what you want from a vet group. That said the athleticism & versatility is there. Definitely have to iron out a few things tho.

Nice work @PP2 and co.

Early in the game, the Steelers tried to complete passes to their RB's and picked
up a few first downs presumably against our LBs. What adjustment did we make?

Thanks

IIRC, we had a backer start spying them out of the backfield.

as we saw in game, and w/ some of these all22 vids, our vet Olinemen on the right side didn't play as well as might be expected

is any of that attributed to andrews not being in game and more support being given to karras by mason/thuney which then also affects responsibilities by cannon? (or they just had bad games, etc)

One aspect of the double pass play that I haven't seen anyone mention (correct me if I am wrong). Brady once again blocking downfield.

I mean I appreciate the competitiveness but one of those days someone will just totally blast him.

Some of the overall spotty performance by the OL, especially the right side, can also be attributed to not having Gronkowski (and not having, gulp, Dwayne Allen?) chipping the outside defenders, if not blocking them 1-on-1 by himself...

And for the record, Ryan Izzo is absolutely, positively Awful.

Looks like man to me. Personnel might indicate other wise but I see man coverage. Who knows I'm stupid?

I am noticing a lot of very heads-up plays by Izzo that I missed, in real time.

Ok I bought the all22. First time through I’m most interested in the defensive packages and schemes.

First Pitt drive we came out in base nickel. I call it 4-2 based upon responsibilities, others may call it 2-4 based upon personnel.

Shelton and guy inside. Mostly over or outside shade of G but sometimes one is shading the C
Simon and Calhoun are DEs.
Hightower and Collins LBs with Collins having the rb in pass coverage.

5 dbs with jones as the nickel.

LBs and Chung very effective in the run game on that drive.

Question to those running all22. When the play is over and the down and distance posts how do you go back to the previous play??

2nd d drive VERY interesting. (3 and out so only 3 plays to see)
Shelton out Bennett in.
1st down Bennett moves out over the T (where Shelton was on the G) and HT and JC in tight.
2nd down guy comes down to the nose and Calhoun is down with his hand in the dirt over the T. JC and Simon playing like 34 OLBs.
It’s a 34 without one of the ILBs and Chung sneaking up to that area.
3rd down 3 man line spread far, 9 tech outside and Bennett on the nose. (We’ve never seemed to be effective with that scheme but bb seems to like it on 3rd and long. This was 3 and 20) HT in with 7 dbs.

This entire drive was somewhat different than I’ve seen us use ever before.
