IDK, I might believe that Spikes was on the bench because of injury and the Pats' defense was such a disaster on the 49ers' opening drive that Belichick was forced to put Spikes back in the opening line up. I am tired of the media manufacturing drama.

Not a big deal unless revealed otherwise, IMO. Seems like a pretty slight disciplinary action, if anything.

We all know Spikes is a mercurial fellow but I do think BB thinks quite highly of him.

It can be debated whether Spikes was punished on the opening series or not, but it can not be debated that Spikes is really beat up. You can see it in his play and how he moves gingerly at times. In practice he is on the bike.

But last night, all of the nickel snaps went to Hightower. Spikes played base only it appeared, which to me is a good thing for now. Spikes needs to be healthy.
