Except that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th.

He likely was born in April. His birthday is celebrated Dec. 25 because it coincides with traditional seasonal/solstice festivities dating back to pagan times. But some accounts do suggest late December for Christ's birth as the divine conception has been linked to March 25.

Regardless, the message of Christmas is what matters.

FWIW... the Immaculate Conception refers to St. Mary's conception, not Christ's.

"The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, also called Immaculate Conception Day, celebrates the sinless lifespan and Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8 December, nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Mary, celebrated on 8 September."

Thanks for the reminder/correction. (If I was brought up Catholic this likely wouldn't have happened.)
Before I joined the Church in 2010, I thought the same thing.
