What do you think about the idiots that actually believe that? I'm so tired of hearing that.

Beyond idiotic

It's nonsense. He's the best manager they've had, and one of the best ever. I don't get people's obsession with bashing him, but then again maybe that's where the whole "Fellowship of the Miserable" originated from.

I would disagree with that assessment.
Francona has done an outstanding job.

francona is the best coach in the history of the redsox period. coaching today is more about handling people than it is about anything else. the coach creates the atmospere in the club house and hes done a unbelievable job.

It makes me so mad to hear those fools talk about Francona like that

Francona may be the best manager in baseball and without a doubt the best mgr the Red Sox ever had.

I loved **** Williams, but Francona has the rings where others don't. Case closed.

Any votes for "the gerbil"? Zip Zimmer.

The way Zimmer burnt out players like Hobson and Fisk by never giving them a day off was almost as pathetic as letting personal feelings dictate personnel moves, such as bringing in Bob Bailey rather than using Bernie Carbo.

So the people who think the Sox win in spite of Francona would prefer what, Grady Little to still be the manager?

Don't forget Bill Lee. Wasn't it Zimmer who refused to pitch Lee against the Yankees even tho Lee had the Yankees number.
come to think of it, I think it was Lee who gave Zimmer his name Gerbal.
