I love the idea, but the security guy in me can see too many ways this could be abused.

Maybe just a 'temporary' ignore, or a 'ignore in this thread only' option?

Well how about we hold off on the temporary ban from posting and just have it work like a dislike feature. Same as Like, but opposite in meaning.

Maybe a soft warning is better and get some raw data (doing a dis-like button that works similr to like -- asin you can see who dislikes it). I'm sure there are some people who like to make absurd remarks that would try to get as many dislikes as possible.

Actually, look around and tell me if you find any other sports forums with a really cool design/layout, etc. To be honest, I haven't been able to find any that have been all that awe-inspiring to get ideas from, and I've actually been looking around quite a bit recently. If anyone else knows of any as well, feel free to post or PM them

Let's just say that game days should hopefully be a much more complete experience moving forward. So far this is coming out really, really well, and I'm definitely excited to get this finished up this week and release it to everyone on game day next Monday

The only thing here that could potentially make the site look better is at the minute the top & right hand side are a bit cluttered, the rest is pretty much fine.

Maybe an alt skin so users can pick between this one and another?

Got to admit though, since they both upgraded to vBulletin 4.2.2 - JI and finheaven have a pretty nice sleek design, I see patsfans is still running on 3.8.7 which is from 2011, is that through preference or does 4.2.2 have some bugs that need working out first?

The 4x series of vBulletin has had its share of bugs, which is why I haven't changed yet and 5x so far has been a nightmare by everything I've read. The other issue that a lot of people don't seem to like as well is the fact the fonts are smaller, not as easy to read, etc. in the newer versions. I know when we did a test of 4x a while back that was a big complaint here, so I've left it alone and have focused on pushing this version as far as I can. Customizing it is also tougher than this version as well.

But I'll see if I can come up with optional skins at some point later in the season - that's actually a great suggestion

Hey Ian--just wondered if anyone has ever suggested a ticket trading sub-forum, for those who have/need tickets at face value?

I've seen several posts lately that have been posted in the wrong thread/forum and haven't really been noticed for people who wish to get rid of their tickets at face value. I have seen this on other Vbulletin sites before and it seems to work fairly well.

Not only would it help to link those who wish to meet in person prior to the games for buying/selling tickets (or through paypal etc), it may also drum up some new posters for next season. Of course there would be a sticky posted at the top of the forum listing basic "rules" such as face value trading, a "good/bad" experience thread listing posters experiences with other specific posters, and other basic tips and subjects.

I'm just curious to know if you've ever considered it before, or if anyone has ever brought it up?

my home, Carolina Panthers Message Board converted to IP.Board a year or two ago... I think the falcons message board uses the same. I think it's pretty slick.

Yes. I get a BAD REQUEST database error 99 times out of 100 when clicking on a forum thread link from the main page. I've had to go to IE to view the forum.

Now that I know it's not a universal problem, I'll do some investigating and see if I can fix it on my end. Maybe I've got some bad cookies or something. I'll let you know if I get anywhere.

I use Chrome at home with no problems, and IE at work also with no problems....
