Weird enough, there's a scenario that if the Pats run the table, and the Bills lose to Pittsburgh and Miami (possible), the Pats would even win the AFC East. Not making any bets, but wouldn't that be a hell of a way to start the playoffs? At home? After all this?
It would be an insane crowd at Gillette...lol

Win today and buff loses to 9ers tomorrow and the patriots are 2 games out of first.
Win next week and buff plays Pittsburgh, Miami plays KC.
A week from today the patriots could be one game out with 3 to go and a game against each team ahead of them.
this is not over by any stretch.
just gotta keep winning.

If the Pats finish 10-6 then they have a wide path in. They'll have tiebreakers over Miami, Raiders, Ravens. They'll be 8-4 in the AFC which is good enough. The Browns have 3 AFC losses but they'll play the Steelers and the rest of the AFC North so it's likely they'll have at least one more, and they will lose to us on the common opponents tiebreaker if the teams are tied.

Can't see it happening though. I think the Rams are a formidable opponent.
If they finish 10-6 they very likely win the division.

The Pats have a chance to take AFCE 2nd place away from Miami these next 2 games.

Miami faces KC and NE in Florida. KC never used to win in Florida until Mahomes showed up. If things go NEs way, the Pats will be tied with Miami at 8 - 6, but Miami will have 3 division losses to NEs 1 division loss.

10-6 and I believe we are in. Anything less and we are out. It's Ok. We are right in the mix.

It's crazy to think a 4-7-1 NFCE team has a 75% chance to get in while a 10-6 team can be left out in the AFC in a year when playoff teams have been expanded to 14 teams.

Yep absolutely have to win out to make the playoffs. It won't be easy and that's putting it nicely.

Also if the Bills lose tonight to the Niners the door starts to open a little bit for the division. Just a crack though.

Bills have Pitt next week, Pats have Rams. Say Pats win both and Bills lose both. Pats are then down one game to the Bills. Then Pats @ MIA and Buffalo @ Denver. Both teams win. Then Pats beat the Bills in Foxboro. Bills would still have the edge via common games (freaking Broncos game ) so it will come down to the Pats beating the Jets for the division and the Bills having to hold off the Dolphins. Should be a fun finish.

If the Pats can beat the Rams on Thursday then my optimism that this team has a run in them will go way up.

Baltimore game tomorrow is huge and hopefully losable, depending on their covid status. Buffalo losing would obviously be a help as well. Not too late on this week to get help on an otherwise disastrous week elsewhere but either way i feel like things could still line up for a 9-7 playoff appearance. Lots of these teams play each other (raiders-fins, colts -raiders) so those games its 100% someone will lose. And none of these teams but Cleveland has really proven they can’t have a major collapse, especially Oakland who looks terrible lately.

of course 10-6 is still the safest bet. We’re set up for a mini 3 games to glory: Rams, dolphins, bills. If we want to beat anyone in the playoffs all these teams should be wins anyway.

I'm always a diehard hopeful for Pats to win every game. But, my objective mind says we don't win @Rams on Thurs night.
Mostly because Cam just isn't able to throw the necessary routes/reads/accuracy to compete in the mid-range passing game.
Rams D is #3 in NFL. We won't be able to run down their throats, so we're going to have to have a big passing night...
So, I don't see any chance of making the playoffs with MIA, LV, BAL keeping stride.

I agree BUT our defense is playing lights out the last 2 weeks. Goff has never really been a problem for Bill to scheme against. I don't think the Rams put up a lot of points so Cam won't need to pass it all over the place. He will have to be good for sure and no turnovers but I don't think this is a high scoring game.

That is true re their defense and a lot of it is because of their dominant pass rush. It even gave Brady fits.
All the more reason to keep Stidham on the bench where he belongs.

They can also take the division title. Buffalo plays at SF today then Pitt next week. If we beat them that’s 6 losses. They play Miami again too.

Pats probably will need help from the Dolphins to take the division. Even if the Bills lose to SF but they beat Denver they have a common games tiebreaker over us if it comes to that.

Not sure they are “keeping pace” Baltimore has lost 3 in a row and 4 of 5 and the raiders needed the jets to hand them the win or they would be on a 3 game losing streak.
Mismi has the hardest part of their schedule coming up.

What scares me more than anything tbh is how dead Cam's arm looks now. He's muscling the hell out of everything just to complete routine throws.

dolphins beat them with Tua passing for 93 yards and the dolphins running for 55 yards.

Pats need a lot of help and I don't think they are good enough to run the table.

There. My expectations are back to what they were at the start of the year and as most recently a couple of weeks ago.
