Who will be our leading receiver now with Moss gone and Branch added in?

Same as it has been, Welker

Welker is the obvious answer but now that there is no double teaming expected on the other side will Welker have the same opportunities or will the defense be looking more his way than ever now?

I went with Hernandez...this rookie is playing like a veteran and has yet to be contained,he is not a TE but is only by title

Welker, of course. But I'll be interested to see what Tate brings to the table in a featured role. Tate, Branch and Hernandez will be our "downfield trio." Hopefully Edelman will get back up to speed spelling Welker, and Gronk will be our redzone guy. Woodhead swinging out of the backfield will be fun to watch as well. I'm optimistic about this group. :singing:

Welker gets open because of Welker

I may be going out on a limb here but without the Prima Donna crying to steal all the glory in receiving I think we may now have the best stacked 1-4 receiving corps in the league and Branch will be our Tomlinson..that is a guy everyone thought was finished but isn't

Branch,Welker,Hernandez,Tate and Gronkowski in the red area is beyond one extremely talented group, even if the RB corps is not so great its a solid offense.

If only our defense was as tight as this WR bunch this would be an extremely hard team to beat.

I voted for Deion Branch, simply because, if you considered Moss our number one, that means you don't think a slot guy can be a number one. And that won't change with Wes, he'll still be a slot guy. So I think Branch will be our best outside guy.

well, you better strap yourself into your chair ,Andy...there's about a 100 anti-Welker doing anything now "fans" that will inundate this thread like a sh!tstorm.

Considering that the answer was Welker before the Moss trade, I think I'll go with Welker.

I doubt Welker will be dropping stats by a large margin but it could drop a bit with a spreading out of passes amongst the group - I see Welker at around 900-950 yards this season

Are you saying it should be Mossfans.com?

Welker has been the leading receiver since he and Moss joined the team in term of number of times targeted, number of receptions, and number of first downs, so I'll assume the question is who will be the team's leader in receiving yards. I would think at season's end it would most likely be either Welker or Hernandez; I'll guess Hernandez.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say the Wes will do it again for the fourth year in a row.

it was a few days ago..it was like everybody's dog ,cat, parrot and pet iguana died at the same time...

This is the end of the thread. I have no idea why anyone wants to add or subrtact from here.

Defense is another thread.

Oh

edit. I forgot to say I voted other. Because the leading reciever finally will be again, the open one

I share your enthusiasm, my friend, but the new receiving corps still needs to prove it.

I don't really care who is or might be the best. For one it makes me uncomfortable to name Welker the best because he's such an unheralded star, and also because the group we have right now are just that--a group, and why spoil that with this individual hero star stuff.

Rose colored glasses are a wonderful thing. We've lost two of the three most potent components of our receiving game over each of the past three years; we've lost Faulk and Moss.

Gronk and Crumpler are fine replacements for last year's tight ends.

I think that it is a bit premature to believe that Branch and Hernandez aill replace the passing game production of Moss and Faulk, and the expected diminished production from Welker (not open as often).

Hernandez. With Moss gone teams number 1 priority would be shutting down Wes.

Leading receivers? Right now the pats have Brady Angels aka the 4 horseman of new England
Welker
Branch
eldelman
tate

It all depends on who tb12 feels like using
