Brady 37 completions, 50 attempts. This is what I envisioned, but heard so much about a balanced attack, I thought I was on an island. Anyone else see this coming?

"you need to run the ball in the playoffs" Is the most untrue over used phrase in the NFL.

It is always a good thing when you can of course. Why make things harder on yourself?

However a short passing game can accomplish everything a running game can.

running the ball is overrated ( helps to have the GOAT ) seriously, the run wasnt there so should throw the ball.

brady carved up the " legion of boom "

Our shotgun offense with Gronk, Edelman, Lafell, Amendola, Vereen is nearly unstoppable. Just too many quick, moving pieces.

Save the Develin, Blount offense for the Colts and when we get double digit leads

Run the ball when you're ahead, pass the ball when you're behind.

Blount is useful in bad weather and when defenses are tired, but only a healthy Ridley, of our present group, can consistently get positive yardage and move the chains.

We won without it, but could have lost without it too.

Against stout defenses, I wonder if Blount would have more success if we just let him run the wild cat. Just that little bit of extra space to let that train get going may work.

They got away from it once they lost the lead and even BB acknowledged they went away from balance

But the 1st half running and controlling the clock - pats ran 72 plays vs hawks 50 somethig - actually took its toll on the seahawks in the end. I still think they went away from the run way too early in the 3rd Q and took a lot of unnecessary deep shots.

Blount is a patient runner going against a lightening fast defense. That's not a good combo. If Belichick wanted to run, Jonas Gray's cut and go would have been more effective. Obviously Gray being inactive told us the running game was not going to be relied on. Not when you have the greatest QB of all time and the greatest TE of all time along with Edelman. The passing game is close to unstoppable once they adjust to a defense. The proof is in all the 4th quarter scoring.

There is always a great divide between what we are told is going to happen on any particular game and what actually happens.. suspected from the onset that the run would be used to keep the defense honest.

The short passing game was essentially a running game..

Again, a defense challenged Brady to put the team on his back and win the game. And he did. The GOAT, without question.

We *tried* to run the ball... Perhaps we draft some huge guards. No?

It was clear to me that bb decided this SB was going to be in the hands of tom Brady

I think we had 21 runs in all. I would have liked to see Blount get maybe 5 or so more carries but it was about what I expected.

Vereen was huge last night with 11 catches. Great game!

For me the balance in the receiving game with 7 receivers, 5 with multiple catches and 4 different receivers catching touchdowns was the type of "balance" I was looking for

On the big plays, thanks to an entire season where Brady had spread the ball, the Seahawks really had no idea where the ball was going

Let's face it - in 2008 the Giants knew the ball was going to Welker or Moss on the big plays - and Welker or Hernandez in 2012

To me, even though stat hounds might disagree, that type of balance makes all the difference on those "must make" plays as even when Brady does go back to an Edelman the D can't fully key on him or Gronk alone

And you can easily argue that the runs for 1 yard in the 3rd qtr is part of what killed the offense.
