Not that talented. Lousy hands in college and Baker had frypans hands in camp and preseason as well. A guy that can't catch is not a NFL talented receiver.

Well we took him in the 4th round. From what I've seen on him it's just maturity issues that's dropped his draft stock. He's a pro now. Let's let allow him to mature and learn how to become a great NFL WR. He has all the tools or he wouldn't be in the league... well then again vederian Lowe is in the league too. I feel pretty good. You have to be happy about maye and polk to this point. The rest still needs development and tbd, robinson and wallace would be most important of that group i hope at least one can become a reliable starter for us. I still have hopes for Baker becoming an impact player too but he’ll take time.

The only gripe ive had was not being more aggressive at 68 and trading up to 63 for sumaitaia or a few spots higher if we liked one if the other tackles more in that run. They seem much better prospects than wallace and might have cost a 6th rounder for the move up? Hope to be proven wrong and wallace turns out fine but it seemed like the smart move to get in the center of that tackle run even if you needed to overpay slightly.

That’s what I wanted as well. Whether it had been OL or WR in the 2nd I was hoping they would move up from their 3rd round pick to take the position they passed with their 2nd pick. The middle of the 2nd round was the sweet spot to add another immediate starter.

I think they are going to have to release Hooper and go get a blocking TE who can help the LT. Or get a true FB that can protect the QB and help with the run game. Now that I think of it I like the second option better, because they can protect any OL mistakes, and block for Stephenson.

Baker has always had bad hands. Not an NFL receiver at this point IMO. Might improve but bad hands are really hard to fix.

Ty for sharing that. I went and looked up some things on him in college and yes his drop rate was higher. Well as a WR that's first and foremost gotta be able to catch the ball. I remember Troy brown saying if the ball ever touched his hands then he needs to catch it.

The Jonathon Kraft led Football Operations Collective lusted for a big money FA #1 caliber WR which would have allowed the "brain trust" to go after an O Tackle in the 2nd round.......a plan that had merit.
Sadly, their failure to execute the free agent portion of their plan and then prioritizing drafting a WR ahead of Tackle has brought us to this point in time, which is.....shelve Maye for his own safety


I'm sorry, but ignoring tackle to secure a rookie WR was borderline malpractice.
On top of that, the "brain trust" took flyers on Baker and Milton, both who I foresee having no real NFL future.
These 4th and/or 6th round draft chips could have potentially been deployed as sweeteners to move up and secure better tackle options.......but instead....we have a self-destructive-ish WR with bad hands and soon to be a very short-lived Joe Milton Experience.

I get that Wolf is prioritizing building through the draft ....aka....the Green Bay Way.....and given the team's inability to attract quality FA's at this time, what choice does he and the team have...
That being said, ignoring the OL shortcomings to the degree Wolf & Co have is nuts, and prioritizing WR ahead of LT is insane.

The likely high degree of failure by the team this coming season will be the result of management's O line decision making this past offseason.

With the 3rd pick in every round, I think a lot of posters were hoping for a QB1 AND a LT1 or a WR1. That did not happen.

I think that was unrealistic going into it. Every team values LT1s and WR1s. Only with a super deep class at both positions could you expect to get starter at those positions in R3.

It is curious that Mayo bases his evaluation on more than one play.

I read Robinson had 3 similar break downs with a blitzing LB getting a free run into the backfield.

Ok that can be corrected with Good Coaching I don't remember a UCF QB being Drafted. Baker is going be good if keeps his head on his shoulders.

Eye hand coordination can not be improved significantly with good coaching. It is a natural gift.
