I actually laughed out loud with this thread.

This Arizona game really pissed me off. Nothing is evolving, and most of it is just straight up getting worse

One of thing we could relly on in BBs golden years is that whenever we started sucking, we go back to fundemantals. That is trench work, being physical, focus on the basics of football and get something running.

We have COMPLETELY lost that. Player suck, and they don't care. Units suck and they don't change anything. then there is everything else.

So am I changing my opinion and join the masses asking for Mayo's head?

Nop. I said this October 20th. And I'll keep it.

We keep Mayo, and Wolf for next year. If we start lousy, we fire them. I understand the cons, but also think, with level-headed thinking it's not worse than firing them at end of this season/"now".
I'm officially in the camp of supporting a coaching change. I've seen enough. Bob needs to talk to Vrabes.

Just not seeing any improvement with the team or with Mayo as a coach.

Thank God they seemed to have done the right thing with Maye.

I'm not sure about Wolf and having confidence he'll draft well and spend wisely in FA.

This is all for nothing, Mayo isn’t going anywhere like it or not.
Thunder has painted himself into a corner.

There is no way that Thunder/Jonathan will fire Mayo after 1 season and hire Vrabel. They will never pull that one off without serious repercussions. So, say adios to Vrabel who like all HCs just needs a QB to really compete for a Super Bowl. Wherever Vrabel lands outside of NE, I expect that team to be way better in 2 - 3 drafts.

How can Thunder & Thunder Jr. allow Wolf to have another crack at the draft after essentially whiffing on rounds 2-7.......especially considering NE drafted near the top of each round and will likely be drafting from the same slot in April.

Wolf and Mayo must be fired to restore order in NE.

New uniforms are 2nd on the agenda.
A number of posters have highlighted that you promote from within when the team is successful and start from scratch if the team has been bad. This is especially true when the people who are being kept had key roles in the dysfunction that created the opportunity in the first place.

I completely understand and it is justifiable everyone wanting his head

I will say these to defend my thinking:
- If we fire Mayo, then the whole NFL knows that Kraft promised him reigns over the Team while a legendary coach was around, he was a given a **** roster and left 100M on the bank, and then fired him in his first year. Not exactly the most convincing of looks, even if a offensive minded coach is salivating for Drake.

- If we fire Wolf now too, then whoever comes in needs to clean house. This staff AND FO all are descendants of BB, maybe a handfull of people remain. Then the whole building of the roster goes back to 0. I know you're smart enough to know that, at the very least, this FO should be prioritizing a self-analysis pretty well. Literally the only objecive for this season that can be accomplished, set from the get-go, is to know who is a diamond and who is dirt, so we can build on. So we are not at 0, as of now. Plus. with me being more speculative, I also can't get my head out of how it HAS to be Kraft's decision to go with 100M on the bank. Makes no sense for a GM to go along with it, unless it wasnt a request, but an order.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I don't know if any GM would ever come and give Mayo the lee-way Kraft has, and in other hand, Mayo certainly cant be trusted to decide on a GM, therefore they stay together on their way out, if it happens.

Gotta asked the question regardless of wins and looses. Has this coach brought anything to the table we can move forward with other than a DEI hire? Teaching players, evaluating talent, great game planning, cap management, media interface and giving us a good sense of what the future would be like. If there is one thing he should stay....

Maybe when Mayo said “we’re going to burn some cash” he actually meant all the money Kraft is going to pay him to sit on his couch the next couple years.
We can only hope.

From what we have seen you Can't give Mayo Two Years!! Bad Coaches can mess up good players it's not Independent. The Krafts can go back on their word: Mayo is not an X's and O's Guy he's the worse HC in the Division.

Good post.

If I were RK and JK, the first thing I would do is ask Mayo and Wolf to identify what went well, what went wrong in 2025, and what they will do to fix it ASAP. If they are unconvincing or if ownership feels their action plan will not deliver the desired change, they need to go.

I'm not sure who's decision it was to not spend in FA. Might have been Wolf's as he told RK we will suck on 2024 regardless and we need high draft choices and a ton of cap space to rebuild. Now that we know Maye (with a decent O-line and better receiving targets) a top 10 QB, they can spend in FA on skill players and splurge on the line.

Agree it would be a bad look for Krafty but it's an even worse look to go 7-27 the last 2 years....and if in Dec of 2025 the NEP are 3-11 again then he'll look worse.

Coming from Curran means that Krafts are slowly letting everyone know they are getting ready for Vrabel. Most likely Vrabel + new assistants. Hopefully AVP stays back.

Mayo is getting fired. I believe Krafts are hearing message loud n clear from fans and media and know dollars are at stake. They cannot fire wolf and restart the rebuild from ground zero. They want someone to work with the good remnants .

What you're saying is that doubling down on a bad mistake is fine because cutting bait "looks bad." I think the opposite applies. Rebooting with Vrabel and Ryan Cowden offers an instant solution.

The Boot licker can get a job within the Organization: just keep him away from on the Players and on the field Football matters.

This im with you 100%. if this was just a company, if they don't f**** ace the review of their ****show projects, they're out the door.

Fair enough view, but I would add that this mentality makes more sense to me if this all process is, indeed, a multi-year deal (or, at least, more than 1 year thing).
also a bit premature to say that we KNOW Maye can be a top 10 qb, but I want to be hopeful too lol

True. But to me Kraft is the main culprit of the team's dysmal situation, so what's beneath rock botton anyway?

I think this is a completely fair view. And I'd love Vrabel as a HC tbh

I am not trying to change anyone one's mind on this **** show, just presenting my reasoning

Kraft needs to understand that he will look bad regardless. Options are:

- Keep Mayo and it looks bad. Mayo then takes care of continuing to make Kraft look terrible.

- Fire Mayo and it looks bad short term. The backlash is then quickly buried under copious amounts of fanfare and renewed hope. As long as you do a legitimate hiring cycle.

This is a no brainer.

Same answer as above, as I think this is fair enough, although me on myself do think 1 year is not enough to evaluate properly coaching/FO in this sport.

but again, completely understandable

Imagine have to suffer through another year of Mayo?? Put me in front of a firing squad... nothing improved under him: the entire Team regressed: the writing on the wall move on from.

How do you come off a Bye week and the Team played like absolute $h!t that's on the HC.
