Here's a player we should focus on under this new defensive regime: Kyle Dugger

He has had the wildest ups and downs of any player. They were mixed in with an injury that he played through for several games until they finally sat him. Since he's been back, he's been plastering players all over the field.

They have him playing constantly out of position. He is miscast. But if you manage to run it 5 yards+ past the DL, he will be there to punish you.

As a free safety, they have him playing way too shallow. Offenses have gone over the top of the safeties, including Dugger, multiple times.

By all rights, this should be a player entering years of Pro Bowl consideration, as he was headed there after what should have been a Pro Bowl year in 2022.

And yet, despite his obvious abilities, we're seeing a guy who is lost in bad coaching and bad defensive design.

He's a key player to look at. When people say the Patriots lack talent and they need a total overhaul, they aren't taking into account the talent that is here that may thrive under a better coach.

Dugger is entirely different than players like, for instance, Godchaux. Godchaux seems to have checked out. I'd argue Keion White is being so vocal this week because he's also one of the ones who cares but is struggling mightily.
This, this is the biggest problem I have with this administration. The entire defense has gotten worse, that's on coaching. Not one player on this team has gotten better this year, except I guess Boutte? Systematic failure from top to bottom.

I would give Wolf another chance he has Green Bay's Drafting roots: he made terrible Trade in the Second and Reached the rest of the 24 Draft. I think Wolf will learn from his mistakes: more times than not you Trade Up and not Down.
Even setting aside all the other personnel mistakes, passing on McConkey only to spend a 2nd and 4th on two worthless WR's is inexcusable. Let some other team give Wolf another chance.,

Mayo is the worst coach in the NFL. But the bigger question is, why isn't any of the **** media digging into his time at Optum. Mayo graduated w a degree in Sports Management, yet he gets hired straight out of his playing career at Optum as an "executive in finance and ad VP of business development.". Why aren't any of these scumbags in the media talking to people at Optum? Was Mayo good at his job? How did he treat people? Was this just a no show job set up by Krafty Bob? Was Mayo, in fact, a DEI hire at Optum? Is Mayo's position still active at Optum, or was this just a position created for Mayo and eliminated when he left. Also, why did Mayo leave Optum? From this article, we can see that Mayo likely was concerned w DEI at Optum...

The highlighted part is not surprising

Because it's not unheard of for popular athletes to get offered cushy jobs in management positions. The world isn't a meritocracy. Having connections and being well known goes a lot further than anything else. You'd be surprised how many VP's and directors of major companies are just total ****head failures who go somewhere, **** up, have a golden parachute on the way out and then because they are known in the industry and have the right titles get to just repeat it again and again.

I'm currently dealing with it right now at a major tech company. One of our directors came in two years ago, he's ****ing hated by anyone who ever worked with him and runs the same failed playbook everywhere. He came in, made his changes, it's not working because he doesn't really understand the market, but because he's known in the industry and give a bunch of Linkedin presentations and Ted Talks they think he knows what he's doing. People can't stand working for him and have been quitting throughout his tenure. Now it's been a couple of years and all his big plans have flopped and he's announcing his exit to a new company to rinse and repeat. Meanwhile there's people who will work at those companies for over a decade and never get the same opportunities he will continually get.

Of course athletes get cushy no show jobs in corporate America...but that's not the point. The point is the fan base was sold Mayo as this accomplished business leader, with business acumen that would translate into his job as HC of the NEP and as a leader of men. If all Mayo did was show up to the Optum luxury suite at Gillette and glad hand executives and prospective clients/partners, the fans should know. Because if that's the case, Mayo is even MORE unqualified. It's the lazy ass bootlicker media's job to find out. Because if Mayo was nothing more than a hand shaker at Optum, Bob Kraft is an even bigger fraud.

That's exactly right. Famous retired athletes often get sales (or "bus dev") jobs in their team's market because many buyers are also fans and enjoy meeting their former heroes. The athlete is basically fluff. You're lucky if he actually turns out to have real sales skills.

If that's all Mayo was at Optum then his experience there was not relevant as a qualification to be the HC of a billion dollar NFL team.

IMO, Kraft is a buffoon. And I really doubt his nebbish of a son will be any better. Hope they sell the team.
