Hope this can be the year!

Seymour's competition for enshrinement this time around will be Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Charles Woodson, Jared Allen, Reggie Wayne, Torry Holt, Leroy Butler, Clay Matthews Jr., Alan Faneca, Tony Boselli, Sam Mills, John Lynch, Ronde Barber, and Zach Thomas

Manning is a lock and so is Woodson. Faneca, Lynch will probably get in this year. Probably not Thomas. Megatron will but dunno about this year. Same with Allen. Not sure about the others.

I'd take Manning, Woodson, Seymour, Zach Thomas, and Faneca. In that order.

And Rodney was better than Lynch WTF.

Two things that work against Big Sey are the HOF is biased to the offensive side of the ball and are heavily influenced by stats. Being in the Pats' system especially when they were playing the 3-4 most years he was here, hurts him with the latter.

I think he absolutely deserves to be in the Hall, but I think he will be waiting a while before he gets in. I don't think he will get in this year. I hope I am wrong.

I hope Bill and Brady are unanimous on the first ballot when it’s their turn. They deserve it.

I know the league doesn’t publish the voting numbers but I wonder how many are unanimous already.

Politics. Kissing ass of the GM.

No love for Megatron?

The Hall has been typically tough to crack for WRs he'll probably get in this year but I chose the G who won something and who blocked for some really good backs before the WR who walked away before his time was up. Calvin shouldn't have to wait too long but this year I think is too soon.

Pats got a first rounder in the Seymour trade - but the defense was never the same after that.

The Raiders chose the wrong time to be an 8-8 team (which they were in both 2010 and 2011). Before that they were 5-11 in both 2008 and 2009 and 4-12 in both 2012 and 2013. Had they been 5-11 in 2010 the Pats would've have gotten the 6th or 7th pick in the 2011 draft. Which they either could've traded for a fortune to the Falcons (who took Julio Jones) or drafted any of the following: Jones, Aldon Smith, Tyron Smith, JJ Watt.

Two perspectives on that trade: one from 2011, and another from 2015.

Manning and Woodson are locks.

How is Boselli not in? He was a beast. He definitely should get in over Faneca. But that is a tough list. Sam Mills is another I'm sure it's because the Saints sucked his entire career but that defense had some very good years despite zero offensive help, and he was all over the place anchoring that thing.

But seeing Bosseli not in is head scratching to me.

Edit: and oh...**** reggie wayne!

The issue with Boselli is that he only played in 6 full season and 91 games in his entire career. Was an absolute stud with 5 Pro Bowls and 3 All Pros but I think his limited career is hurting him.

Seymour was a tough player for the Pats to trade but he was looking for a top of market deal and BB decided to keep the younger Wilfork instead. The trade was mainly due to salary cap reasons (similar to Chandler Jones).

Thinking Seymour gets in, just barely. He absolutely deserves it though.

In an era overlapped by Ray Lewis, Junior Seau, Brian Urlacher and Derrick Brooks all who are in the HOF Zach Thomas made 9 All Pro Teams including 7 of them being first team. I hated knowing we were facing Thomas and Taylor. Zach should already be in the HOF.

The relatively short career is also my issue with Boselli making the HOF. He was great, no question, but he was great for 5 seasons, maybe 6 if you want to count his rookie year. Should Anthony Munoz or Willie Roaf be elevated to a higher level of the HOF because, in addition to being great, they played approximately twice as many games as Boselli?

I don't think there should be a minimum number of games played requirement for the Hall of Fame because I don't know what that number should be and it could vary by position. Whatever that number is, I think it should be more than 91. Then again, Terrell Davis had a shorter career and a much shorter "peak" than Boselli and he elected to the HOF, so maybe he will get in regardless of what I post here.

Houston Antwine, Gino Cappelletti, Randy Gradishar, Tommy Nobis

Why does Calvin Johnson have more votes than Reggie Wayne? CJ had better numbers in their overlapping seasons but he quit in the midst of his prime. RW... pro bowl, all pro, Super Bowl ring, top 10 all-time in receptions and yards. RW had the HOF career not CJ.
