I used to think that.

Understand, the newspaper game is over. There is a reason why the Globe, which sold a decade ago to the NY Times for $1.1 billion was bought by John Henry this year for less than 50% what the Yankees are paying Jacoby Ellsbury.

When I read about his purchase, the first thing that came to mind was the hope that he would get rid of Shanknancy, but this doesn't seem to be the case.. yet? My remaining hope is that he'll wait until a more opportune time to cut this tumor from the Boston Sport scene so there's even less of a causal link.

In a strange way, I think that the moment Henry bought the paper Shank attained a lifetime contract with the Globe. I believe that because if Henry greased him, he'd be open to a barrage of criticism for the un-American crime of trying to silence dissent. The same media lemmings who are circling CHB's wagon would be leading the charge. Shank's here for life.
