I always assume everything this time of year is posturing. Even if Payton isn't doing it to inflate the demand for the players, he's at least doing it so that - if nothing happens - these guys are 100% bought in with him. Everything a coach/GM says in the offseason should be taken with a Sodom and Gomora level of salt.

I had that thought at one point too but I think he actually played safety a little last year and it wasn't much better than corner. He's not as bad as we let on he's just not a starter.

Yeah, when he's in the box safety spot he's pretty good. He's an excellent tackler just not as instinctive as say Phillips or duggs.. he was playing out of position due to need last season.. as you stated rotational player is his calling.. he reminds me of sterling Moore... remember him.. the season we were giving up record passing yards allowed?

I am so enamored and curious if the Patriots plan to move Mac or believe in him.
I don’t think any moves can be made on the offense til you know if Mac is the guy or not.

BB stuck with bums like Harry, Maroney until the end. He actually had planned for Stidham to take over for Brady.

No way that BB is going admit that he made a terrible QB pick on Corky Mac this soon. Corky will have all year 3 in this do or die season.

Same here... I've been thinking about this.. it's alot easier for a franchise to like a QB when his salary is 4 million as opposed to a MVP, who will command 40..

He's got better guys around him than Sterling Moore had. We definitely can improve on Bryant but we've all seen worse too.

Absolutely, Yes the likes of Terrance Wheatley, Jonathan Wilhite, some how Wade is still on this roster mysteriously..

I've mentioned before that Bryant is decent against the run when he plays at safety.. I believe that's more of a natural position for him.. CB not so much..

He had his chances, and he failed... It's just time to give somebody else those chances now... It's also not like he has a superior physical/athletic profile worth trying to develop one more season or anything like that either. He is who he is, which is Not an NFL player.

He had his chances, and he failed... It's just time to give somebody else those chances now... It's also not like he has a superior physical/athletic profile worth trying to develop one more season or anything like that either. He is who he is, which is Not an NFL player.

Agreed, But look who his competition was joaun Williams 2019 draft bust, who's known more for being on IR than anything ever done on the field, Sean Wade who probably was on IR when we traded for him.. had those guys I mentioned showed any signs of earning a roster spot then myles Bryant isn't here..

He was playing out of necessity, no guarantee he'll make it out of camp.. we need to be sureing up the secondary.. I know we'll draft some guys but we aren't going to get lucky 2 years in a row I'd imagine with 2 starting CBs
