How else can they end this hijacking? The team doesn't believe in the player / the player's salary cripples the team's roster building / the player will likely exit next year any way / the distraction has led to disfunction.

The alternative: Sign Cousins to an exorbitant deal and take up residence in the middle of the pack for a half dozen years.

true, but before the last 2 years he was 2nd fiddle to RG3 and only got spot starts due to injury or when RG3 got benched. Any QB needs consistent reps to play well.

Because many people are flippant about blatantly racist sports teams' names. And, for some reason, many feel the need to fight as much as they need to in order to keep those names.

For some reason, many feel the need to make more of it than what it really is. Forget the fact that the history of the name is in question, but look at the other teams that also have "racist names" that no one seems to give a damn about.

Chicago Blackhawks, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Golden State Warriors, Illinois Fighting Illini, Kansas City Chiefs, SDSU Aztecs.

Forget the fact that most Native Americans don't give a damn about the names and it's actually "guilt-ridden" people of other ethnic origins who make more of an issue of it than it really is..

And then there was Cousins. I'd say that that's closer to lower second tier. Numbers are not everything, though you continue to throw numbers at me. I said in my initial response to you that numbers aren't everything. There is a thread discussing where Peyton Manning should rank and he's not even in some peoples' top five, while holding just about every single regular season record there is to own. LOL And you pointing out that he's in "the toughest division in football" must lend credence to those who say Brady only wins so much because he's in one of the easiest divisions in football. You can't have it both ways. Eli has won two SB's in the same toughest division. Dak Prescott, in his rookie season, finished with only two real losses and realistically should have been in the NFCCG (which I truly believe Dallas would have won). C'mon, dude. I have confidence that Cousins will surpass some of the people on the list above, but he hasn't yet. That's just what it is today.

What's funny is you're acting as though being in the lower second tier is a bad thing. It's not. He's still in the second tier. LOL I never said the man sucks. I never said he was a bad QB. In fact, I've said the opposite. What I'm not willing to do, however, is proclaim that he's as good as the purported price tag. They're SB winners, no matter how lucky you think they were. Brady was pretty lucky they called a pass on the one yard line and Butler made an incredible play. To win a lucky SB means you've won a few playoff games, which both have done. Flacco has a winning record in the playoffs by a good margin, even managing to beat NE at home two of those times. So if we're going to put Cousins in the second tier, which I think he deserves to be, then there is no way Flacco and E. Manning don't deserve to be if winning is the most important thing, which I firmly believe it was, is and will always be in sports. So, no.

Flacco has a better playoff record than just about every active QB not named Tom Brady right now (I haven't looked at the numbers entirely). He's the only QB to beat Brady twice at Gillette in the playoffs, while having really good games each time (and even in a few of the losses). Eli Manning finds ways to get his team to the playoffs in a very difficult division. You have to do a little more than "suck" to do that, no matter how much you're trying to take away from them. Eli will likely end up in the Hall. Even if someone wants to argue it's only because of the two championships, you still have to have played somewhat well to get into the Hall of Fame, I'd think, otherwise the Hall would be a joke. I don't like either guy, but I'm not going to discredit their accomplishments. Seriously man. Just stop. You are definitely allowed to feel how you want, but it doesn't change my opinion one bit.

I highly suggest you look at the personnel on the field when they threw that pass. Also look at the Pats and Seahawks personnel on the play before that when Lynch ran it to the 1 yard line. Also look at the rest of the game on how Lynch fared with 3rd and short. Also note the personnel by both teams during those plays as well as what coverage the Pats were running.

If you do that and still come back and tell me "None of that would have mattered if they handed the ball to Lynch.", I'll tell you that you've been brainwashed by the mass media propaganda by hateful and jealous media who can't bear to see the Patriots win again. The reality is devastating to them, so the narrative becomes, "the pats didn't win it, the seahawks lost it". If this was another team, you wouldn't have seen this level of insanity. People would have come to grips that it was unlikely Lynch was going to get into the endzone.

In conclusion, likely scores my ass! Patriots won that game! Lynch wasn't getting in if they had tried to run it in! Although Lynch was coming open for the TD if Wilson had thrown it to him instead. Running back on a defensive end? Brady would have seen that matchup!

As for the rest, Jump Ball Joe and E-LIE will never be in my tier 2. They suck.
