Schefter performed an MRI on Lewis through osmosis... Amazing...

I'm no doctor, but how could they determine his ACL was "loose" when an MRI hasn't taken place yet?

Not a doctor either, but medical. Heres the first youtube video I could find on the subject. Physical exam is fairly reliable (in the sense that you would immediately know if someone is frankly injured or not), however prognosis is obviously difficult without sensitive imaging (MRI).



In my opinion...its not looking up for Lewis. Still too early though. Really just gotta wait for all the tests to come back. Hoodie isn't kidding when he says he doesn't know.

Having had 4 ACL tears, and sprains and partial tears on top of that, they medical usually is enough to determine if the joint is torn. The MRI is just to confirm what the previous testing determined. Sometimes there is so much swelling, the MRI cannot determine the extent of the damage, and have to wait.

On occasion, the Pre-testing is not clear because the looseness of the joint isn't so far out of range. The fact that it isn't swollen yet is a good sign for sure, but doesn't mean it's definitely good news either.

I am cautiously optimistic, but it could go both ways, as I have experienced all different situations myself.

Im confused....la conforta and others said the on field tests revealed its mcl not acl and they hope it is a sprain

...and schefter is saying his acl is loose.....so somebody is wrong

Every case is different. If at this time next week he's not IR'd, that's a win, and we go from there.

I hate to say it, but any orthopedic specialist can determine whether a ligament is torn by just manipulating the leg. It isn't 100%, but they are more often than not on the money.

That said, I will wait for the results of the MRI and whether they IR him before I get too excited about reports by Schefter or anyone else.

Whatever they learned when Wes went down, use that lesson. No, we have shown to not NEED the run game, and we have Blount, White and Bolden...sure would be nice if that MRI came back negative though. Lewis is a real drive extender....
