Yeah, they treated him so badly! They only paid him $57 Million for 4 four years! What a crappy contract! And then when he asked for an extension and they couldn't come up with a number that would fit under the cap, the Patriots had the nerve to trade him to the Carolina Panthers, where he requested to go. What jerks.

Too bad Belichick treated him so badly. Oh wait, Stephon actually said, "Bill was the greatest coach I’ve ever been around".

Look, there was some acrimony when he left, but he wanted to go to Carolina and the Patriots just didn't have the cap space to fit his demands, so they parted ways. That's just the NFL and not specifically the Patriots.

What are you talking about? Did you go to any games back then? The crowds loved him. Ditto Gonzalez. I happen to have a Gonzalez Rivalries game jersey.

Now if you're talking about some of the idiots who never have anything good to say about any Patriot player, why would you use the generic "fans"? I am a fan and I was really disappointed that they couldn't keep Gilmore.I know quite a few fans who were similarly disappointed. I was hoping they were going to be able to re-sign him a few years ago.
