I agree. Makes it no fun. However : Chargers didn’t deserve to win this BS of a game.
Even though the news of losing Hollins stings. Patriots got a gift the chargers are a falling team and a much better match up than the Texans defense. Is the NCAA skipping a week of the college football playoffs because they didn't want to go head to head with two NFL games?
It looks that way to me, though it may more likely be a case of the networks controlling football organizations (tail wags the dog).
4:30 ET: 10-5 Houston Texans at 11-4 Los Angeles Chargers (-1½)
NFL Network. Announcers: Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner; sideline: Jamie Erdahl, Megan Olivi
Houston has won seven in a row - the NFL's current longest winning streak - after being written off when they started the season 3-5. The Texans are one game behind Jacksonville in the AFC South; Houston finishes with a winnable game (home vs Indy), while the Jaguars are at Indy Sunday, then finish home vs Tennessee. A Texans loss to the Chargers coupled with a Jags win tomorrow means Jacksonville clinches the division and at least a #3 seed.
The Chargers have won four in a row and seven of their last eight. They'll need some help to win the division, but can clinch at least the #5 seed with a win here plus a Buffalo loss to Philly on Sunday.
8:00 ET: 7-8 Baltimore Ravens at 9-5-1 Green Bay Packers
Peacock. Announcers: Noah Eagle, Todd Blackledge; sideline: Kathryn Tappen
Baltimore cannot make the playoffs as a wildcard; the only way they can make the postseason is to (1) beat the Packers, plus (2) Steelers lose at Cleveland tomorrow, and (3) beat Pittsburgh next week. The Ravens won five in a row to momentarily seem like they were going to win the AFC North, but since then have lost three out of four. Green Bay clinched a playoff spot after Detroit lost to Minnesota on Thursday. The only way they can win a division title is to win twice, plus Chicago loses twice. I'm guessing they are going to rest some starters here, which would make getting a temporary subscription to Peacock meaningless.
you just described most nfl gamesThe level of ineptitude in that 2nd qtr was off the charts. Interceptions, fumbles, weird penalties, missed field goals, balls hitting players in the hands and popping the air, horrifically bad coaching decisions on the Texans part, abysmal QB play on both sides. Both these QBs have their heads up their butts.
they just had a byeThe Pats may be best served to win tomorrow and rest their players in week 18.
They need the rest badly.
Just avoid the Texans in their favorite round, the WC round. All good facing them in the divisional.Best realistic path now for the Patriots chances with Denver getting homefield
7 Chargers at 2 Pats - Pats win
6 Texans at 3 Jags - Jags win
5 Bills at 4 Steelers - Bills win
3 Jags at 2 Pats - Pats win
5 Bills at 1 Broncos - Bills win
5 Bills at 2 Pats
Denver isn't all that IMO.
We actually got a gift the chargers are a much better match up for us..Go Chargers.
They are resting a lot of guys tomorrowThe Pats may be best served to win tomorrow and rest their players in week 18.
They need the rest badly.
The Texans got screwed on calls before that. It was both ways.Chargers did not deserve to win. Too many mistakes.
Herbert played like crap
Broncos getting top seed.
Agree. keep hearing about comeback kid Nix.. what happens when he's not able to mount a comeback...Denver isn't all that IMO.
Well if your other option is college….ive really soured on college. Coaches leaving before playoffs begin (team is in the playoffs), players transferring constantly (team is in the playoffs…transferring before postseason play starts) ,players trying to hold out for more money if they make the playoffs….the list continues. NCAA is a disaster right now, give me NFL football all day over that crap.Honestly, I'm super sick of how corrupt the NFL is. I love the Patriots but I can't enjoy them without thinking we're about to get bent over and taken on a one way trip to brown town by the league...
I love football, I just hate the NFL.
